2021: Creation of a center for the implementation of the federal project "Artificial Intelligence"

In July 2021, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree approving the creation of an expertise center for the implementation of the federal project "Artificial Intelligence" as part of the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation.

The center of expertise will provide expert support for the implementation of the strategy for the development of artificial intelligence, as well as monitoring the implementation of the federal project "Artificial Intelligence." In addition, the new entity will be responsible for critical infrastructure initiatives.

Under the Government of the Russian Federation, a center has been formed for the implementation of the federal project "Artificial Intelligence"

Until the end of 2021, the center will form an index of the readiness of industries for the introduction of AI, launched a national portal in the field of artificial intelligence and assessed satisfaction with the working conditions in Russia of citizens interested in the development of artificial intelligence technologies. Also, the new structure of the Analytical Center will be responsible for forming positions on regulatory issues and promoting the principles of ethical self-regulation.

Hundreds of organizations from various sectors of the economy are involved in the development of artificial intelligence in Russia. To achieve synergistic effect, it is important to ensure coordination of all AI competence centers. It is this task that is entrusted to the Center of Expertise being created... As the president rightly noted, artificial intelligence is becoming a faithful assistant, opening new horizons for solving a number of problems that face humanity, "said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

According to him, the center of expertise will also implement a set of measures to promote Russia in terms of the development of AI technologies in the international arena. This will attract the attention of foreign experts and create additional conditions for Russian technologies at the international level.^[1]
