In parallel with the development, the company regularly conducted work on testing its products for compatibility with domestic operating systems: Red OS, Astra Linux, Alt OS, AlterOS, Atlant OS, OSNOVA. All this was necessary so that customers could quickly and seamlessly switch to domestic software.

Along with financial indicators, the number of personnel in the company increased in 2023: at the end of 2023 it is 127 people, TAdviser cited data in Content AI. At the end of 2022, the number was 100 people.

In addition, this jurisdiction is necessary to solve a number of operational problems, for example, licensing new dictionaries for the Lingvo by Content AI product (electronic dictionaries for learning foreign languages), TAdviser explained in Content AI.

Earlier, the company said that in the near future it is planned to change ownership to Russian.

History

2023

Russian means of intelligent document processing are 100% ready for import substitution

The knowledge-intensive field of intelligent information processing, like all IT segments, has undergone changes during 2022. However, after leaving the market of international vendors - Kofax, Adobe, ABBYY - the positions of leading suppliers did not remain vacant. Moreover, new names have appeared, and with a portfolio of world-class advanced technologies. An example is the Russian company Content AI. Read more here.

Content AI has applied for the inclusion of software in the register and plans to change the owner

Content AI (Content AI LLC) has submitted an application for inclusion in the register of Russian software of almost all its products, a company representative told TAdviser on March 2, 2023 as part of the RUSSOFT press event. Among them are the multifunctional PDF ContentReader PDF editor, the universal ContentCapture intelligent information processing platform and the ContentReader Engine developer SDK. Content AI is awaiting an expert opinion.

As of the beginning of March 2023 ON Ministry of Digital Development , there are three products in the domestic register whose copyright holder is "AI Content": Content AI Intelligent Search (formerly ABBYY Intelligent Search SDK), InfoExtractor SDK (formerly ABBYY InfoExtractor SDK), Lingvo by Content AI (formerly ABBYY Lingvo).

Exclusive rights to these products were obtained by "AI Content" on the basis of agreements on the alienation of exclusive rights, indicated in the register. As ABBYY products, they have been present in the register of domestic software since 2016.

In January 2022, ABBYY removed almost all of its products from the register of Russian software "(photo - Evgeny Dudin, Kommersant)"

In January 2022, we recall that most ABBYY products were removed from the register of domestic software, and the rights to them were transferred to the company's American legal entities. ABBYY Intelligent Search, ABBYY Lingvo, ABBYY InfoExtractor SDK were among the exceptions remaining in the Russian registry.

Applications from AI Content for inclusion in the ContentReader Engine, ContentReader PDF and ContentCapture registry, in particular, were registered in January and February 2023.

In accordance with the PP-1236, one of the requirements for software to include information about it in the register, if its copyright holder is a commercial organization, is the total share of direct or indirect participation of Russian persons in it more than 50%. I.e. this should be a Russian commercial organization without predominant foreign participation.

According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Content Ai Solutions Bilishim Ve Teknolozhi Hizmetleri Anonymous Shirketi, a company registered in Turkey, has a 100% owner since July 2022. And before that, Russian individuals were listed as owners.

The company could not specify more certain terms for the change of ownership, specifying that this will happen "when certain tasks are fully solved."

At the same time, Content AI believes that even now, from the point of view of Russian legislation, their company is Russian: "Russian citizens own a Turkish company 100%."

The Ministry of Digital Development explained that the company can apply for the inclusion of software in the register if its ultimate beneficiaries are Russian citizens and their share is more than 50%. At the same time, foreign legal entities as founders can be in the chain of structure of its ownership.

Meanwhile, according to the database of legal entities Kontur.Fokus, "as of the beginning of 2023, one of the Russian legal entities ABBYY, Abi LLC, is under liquidation. The liquidator is Oleg Sazhin, adviser to the general director of Content AI, a former ABBYY employee. Abi LLC in 2022 sued the Interregional Inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service for the largest taxpayers because of[1] debts[2].

ABBYY left Russia, earlier and now/always complied with the legislation in all regions of presence. That is why business closure is carried out according to the rules of voluntary liquidation in compliance with the legislation and the interests of partners. All debts to the budget have been repaid, otherwise a voluntary liquidation would not have been possible, "TAdviser said in Content AI.
