2022: Launch of information security company

On May 16, 2022, it became known that immigrants from Positive Technologies created a new company in the field of information security. It was named Cyberok.

According to Kommersant, the CEO of Cyberok is the ex-deputy head of Positive Technologies Sergey Gordeichik. According to SPARK-Interfax, Saiber Ok JSC is 100% owned by Big History JSC Margarita Kondratyuk, who, judging by the information on the LinkedIn social network, previously held the position of Legal Director of Positive Technologies. The project consultant is the beneficiary of Positive Technologies (56%) Yuri Maksimov, sources told the newspaper.

Immigrants from Positive Technologies launched a new information security company

The Cyberok platform operates according to the Open Source model: it collects ready-made cybersecurity products from open components, develops the missing elements, and conducts certification. The company will receive deductions from partners working according to the MSSP model (security as a service), Sergey Gordeichik explained to the publication. According to him, about $15 million can be invested in the project in two years.

The company was launched with the money of the founders, but they plan to attract third-party investments. According to experts interviewed by Kommersant, taking into account the departure of foreign vendors, there is room for new participants in the market, but they will have strong Russian competitors.

The development of the project under the Open Source model may be partly due to the fact that Russian software vendors, against the background of sanctions from a number of foreign developers of open source code, which is posted on GitHub, began to restrict access to it to Russian colleagues, a newspaper source believes in the development market. In terms of cybersecurity, free software gives only the advantage that it is possible to independently audit the code with an unlimited number of people, the source explained.[1]
