History

2023: Medinvestizia bought 14.1% of the Doctor Nearby holding

On December 19, 2023, it became known that Medinvestizia JSC had entered into an agreement to acquire a stake in Doctor Nearby Holding, which is a co-owner (50%) of the united network of medical clinics in Moscow. These facilities provide a wide range of outpatient services for children and adults.

It is reported that as part of the deal, Medinvestizia bought 14.1% of the holding. We are talking about a share that previously belonged to Astori Business LTD, registered in the Virgin Islands. As of this date, another 44.23% of the holding is owned by Veb Ventures LLC (VEB Ventures; subsidiary ВЭБ.РФ), and 19.9% - Tim Drive LLC. The founder of the Doctor Nearby service owns 8.11%, Ruslan Ibragimov - 4.4%, Viktor Voitov - 2.9%. Six more participants have shares ranging from 0.25% to 2%.

JSC "Medinvestizia" entered into an agreement on the acquisition of a stake in the enterprise "Doctor nearby holding"

The general director of the holding, Maxim Chernin, owns 1%. As Chernin notes, changes in the structure of the enterprise are associated with internal corporate restructuring. At the same time, the company's stakeholders have not changed.

The joint network of medical clinics, which emerged as a result of an M&A deal between Doctor Nearby and Niarmedic, unites 17 of its own multidisciplinary institutions by the end of 2023. They are located in various districts of Moscow. All these clinics, according to the organization's own statements, are equipped with modern medical equipment. The institutions employ a total of more than 500 specialists in 20 medical areas. Among other things, the company uses modern methods of service using telemedicine Internet technologies. These are online consultations of several specialists at one appointment of a family doctor. Such a service saves time, money and allows you to comprehensively approach the patient's medical problem[1]

2022: Maria Kolomentseva - the new head of "Doctor Nearby"

At the end of March 2022, Maria Kolomentseva was appointed General Director of the Doctor Nearby telemedicine service (part of the Veb Ventures portfolio). She replaced Denis Shvetsov, who has led the company since 2019. Shvetsov's new place of work has not been disclosed. Read more here.

Fourth place in the ranking of the largest medical tech companies in Russia

The doctor nearby increased the number of consultations four times

Doctors of the digital medical service Doctor nearby, part of the VEB Ventures portfolio, held 227.9 thousand consultations in 2020 - 293% more than in the pre-crisis 2019. Revenue increased by 21% year-on-year, to 684.4 million rubles.

60% of the company's revenue is sales in the field of bank insurance: telemedicine adds customer value to banking services. About 15% of revenue is the inclusion of telemedicine in VHI packages, which became especially important when all employees switched to remote work.

At the end of the year, the Doctor nearby became the leader among telemedicine services in terms of the number of consultations held. The key factor in the growth of demand for remote consultations was the self-isolation regime introduced in a pandemic, when citizens could not visit doctors due to the threat of COVID-19 infection. The federal program for the provision of free telemedicine consultations, which the Doctor nearby and ВЭБ.РФ launched in April, also contributed to the increase in the frequency of online visits to doctors.

Another growth factor was the introduction of telemedicine services into the compulsory medical insurance system in the regions. In 2020, the Doctor, together with regional administrations, launched the corresponding pilot projects in Tatarstan,, Kaluzhskaya,, and Sakhalin Ivanovskaya. Ulyanovsk From Nizhny Novgorod regions March 2021, residents of the Lipetsk region can receive free remote consultations.

The most popular specialists among the users of the Doctor service were therapists nearby. They accounted for 40% of appeals, primarily on issues related to coronavirus. Women sought remote consultations more often than men (76% versus 24%). In age terms, citizens aged 25 to 50 (71%) used the service more often than others. 16% of applicants are citizens over 50 years old and 13% are young people under 25 years old. Most of the applicants are residents of Moscow, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Leningrad Region, Sverdlovsk Region, Tatarstan and Bashkiria.

Telemedicine became free in 6 regions

On September 23, 2020, Doctor Nearby announced the introduction of telemedicine services into the compulsory health insurance system in six regions. Pilot projects were launched in Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod, Ivanovo, Ulyanovsk and Sakhalin regions.

In Tatarstan, free remote consultations are available to residents of Kazan attached to city polyclinics No. 8 and No. 18. Within the framework of the project, GPs of partner polyclinics conduct an initial examination of patients and, if necessary, organize a second appointment with doctors of narrow specialties "Doctor Nearby" in the format of a medical telemedicine consultation.

In the Nizhny Novgorod region, residents served in the polyclinic at the city clinical hospital No. 40 of the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod were the first to access remote consultations with doctors. Patients can use telemedicine for repeated consultations, while the first meeting with a doctor remains face-to-face. The service is available to all patients of the clinic, including patients of dispensary groups.

Telemedicine became free in 6 regions of the Russian Federation

In the Ulyanovsk region, patients can remotely receive repeated remote consultations of therapists and cardiologists of the city polyclinic No. 4, on the basis of which the project was launched.

In the Ivanovo region, the Doctor will take over the launch of remotely controlled rehabilitation together with the FSBUZ "Reshma Medical Center" FMBA: Russia for this, special simulators, computers with access Internet to and camera will be installed in patients at home. In addition, remote monitoring of a group of patients with chronic diseases will be organized in the Ivanovo region.

Remote consultations of therapists and doctors of narrow specialties are already available to residents of Sakhalin: cardiologists, urologists, orthopedic traumatologist, neurologists, endocrinologists, dentist-therapists, obstetrician-gynecologists, otorhinolaryngologists, allergist-immunologists, gastroenterologists, surgeons and ophthalmologists.[2]

Merge with Doc +

Creation of the company as a result of the merger of the Doctor Nearby and Niarmedic networks

In mid-July 2020, the Doctor Nearby and Niarmedic clinics completed the merger, which was announced a year earlier. As a result of the transaction, the shares of the combined company - United Company Niarmedic - Doctor Nearby LLC - were distributed between the shareholders of Doctor Nearby and Niarmedic in a ratio of 45% to 55%, respectively. On July 16, 2020, it became known that remote medical consultations for the first time in Russia began to be provided under the compulsory health insurance policy. Telemedicine service "Doctor nearby" has become available to the owners of the compulsory medical insurance policy in the Kaluga region - this is about 1 million people.

Payment for remote consultations of the telemedicine service takes place within the framework of the tariff agreement in the field of compulsory medical insurance in the Kaluga region. Telemedicine was included in the Government Guarantee Program in December 2017 for the planning period from 2018 to 2020. Attracting 1 billion rubles of investments from the ВЭБ.РФ Fund

On May 13, 2020, it became known that the ВЭБ.РФ is investing 1 billion rubles in the development of clinics and the Doctor Nearby telemedicine platform. The money will be provided through the VEB Ventures structure set up by ВЭБ.РФ to support high-tech projects through direct trades and venture fund management.

VEB Ventures told Kommersant about investments in Doctor Nearby. They also clarified that the allocated funds will be used to develop new telemedicine solutions, increase the bandwidth of the online platform, promote, increase the number of clinics and equip them with equipment.

ВЭБ.РФ invests 1 billion rubles in the Doctor Near telemedicine service

In addition, a special software will be developed in the telemedicine service, allowing "to build a new health care system based on digital technologies and high quality service."

According to a source close to the deal, in 2020 VEB Ventures will allocate 625 million rubles to Doctor Nearby, the remaining amount in 2021. At the second stage of the transaction, attracting third-party investors is being considered, the source said. He adds that the candidates have already been determined. What share VEB Ventures will receive in "Doctor Nearby" is not reported.[4]

According to Oleg Teplov, CEO of VEB Ventures, the average annual growth rate of the telemedicine market in the next five years may reach 116%, and the access of a wide range of patients to telemedicine platform services may become a key driver of market development.

"Doctor Nearby" and ВЭБ.РФ launched a telemedicine project

On March 30, 2020, ВЭБ.РФ announced the launch of a federal project to provide free telemedicine assistance to residents of Russia. He earned on the basis of the infrastructure of the company "Doctor Nearby"

ВЭБ.РФ launched a project to provide free telemedicine assistance to Russians

 Moscow medical centers "Tigrenok," "Vitbiomed +," "Regionmedservice," "DOK +" and Sante Clinic will take part in the provision of telemedicine assistance. The project was also joined by the regional clinics "Medexpress" (Ryazan), "Favorite Doctor" and "Medis" (Perm), "Doctor" (Rostov-on-Don).

It is planned that clinics from St. Petersburg, Orenburg, Belgorod, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Altai Territory and the Republic of Bashkortostan will join the project.
