The Doma.ai platform started in 2018 is used for management of houses (The smart house (Smart home)). It optimizes business processes in management companies and allows inhabitants to create requests for problem solving in the house or the apartment, to transfer meter readings and to pay utilities in one application.

2020: Sberbank purchased Doma.ai

At the end of December, 2020 Sberbank announced acquisition of the Doma.ai platform. Under the terms of the agreement, the credit institution, largest in Russia, will receive 78.04% in a startup, and its founder Ilya Sotonin will save 21.96%. The transaction is going to be closed in February, 2021, its cost does not reveal.

The Doma.ai service will be included into an ecosystem of Sber. The bank is going to expand functionality and possibilities of the platform to accelerate the solution of the majority of household problems.

Sberbank purchased Doma.ai

Our ecosystem already includes many services which can contribute significantly to development of the industry of housing and public utilities and provide to residents qualitatively other client experience — the vice chairman of the board of Sberbank Anatoly Popov says, commenting on the transaction. — The most priority in this respect we see a problem of creation of convenient and safe management tools the property for inhabitants of apartment houses and settlements. Their interaction with representatives of management companies should become more operational, open and seamless.

Ilya Sotonin, also commenting on the transaction, noted that the Russian market of housing and public utilities is conservative, and services which are normal for other countries in the Russian Federation only just begin to appear. So, ZhEKs are succeeded by management companies of new type. Products which already enter an ecosystem of Sber will allow such management companies to create the best service for inhabitants and to construct strong business which constantly grows and fairly earns money, the founder of Doma.ai said.^[1]
