EBAC Online (Escola Britânica de Artes Criativas) is an online school of digital professions launched in June 2020, which specializes in distance education in design, marketing and programming in Brazil. The project was created by Andrei Anishchenko  (co-founder of the online university Skillbox),  Alexander Avramov  (co-founder of the British Higher School of Design and Universal University)  and Pavel Aleshin  (ex-director of Yandex.Market).

2021

Raising $11 million

September 8, 2021 it became known about the investment of $11 million in EBAC (Escola Britânica de Artes Criativas & Tecnologia). As part of the Series A funding round, Baring Vostok and Begin Capital funds, the AngelsDeck Venture Investors Club, the A.Partners investment company and QiwiSergey Solonin co-founder invested in the Brazilian online school.

The parameters of the transaction are not disclosed, therefore neither the shares of investors in the project nor its estimated value are known. The funds raised will be used to expand the range of courses and scale in other countries.

By September 2012, EBAC School has 78 courses in design, marketing, programming, etc. The average cost of courses on the example of a game design course is 2000-3600 Brazilian reais (about 28.3-50.9 thousand rubles). More than 20 thousand students are trained in the service. Over the year of its existence, the company managed to reach a monthly revenue level of $1 million.

The high demand for applied additional education and the high capacity of the Latin American market, which has a population of 600 million people, allows us to make ambitious plans - in five years we see EBAC as a company with revenues exceeding $100 million per year, "said EBAC co-founder Andrei Anishchenko.

According to him, the company seeks to become a leader in the field of additional vocational education in Latin America, and dreams of "creating another unicorn (a startup worth $1 billion - approx. TAdviser) with Russian roots."

The pandemic of coronavirus COVID-19 provoked the accelerated development of EdTech, now it is one of the most promising and fastest growing markets around the world, said Baring Vostok partner Dmitry Baburin.

Attracting $1.5 million in investments from Qiwi co-founder Sergei Solonin

In mid-January 2021, it became known about the investment of $1.5 million in EBAC Online by QiwiSergey Solonin, co-founder of QiwiSergey Solonin. The online school intends to spend the funds raised on expanding the number of training programs, lectures and employment programs.

By January 2021, EBAC Online has more than 5 thousand students, the monthly revenue of the project is about $500 thousand, and the product line is represented by 22 training courses.

Co-founder of the company Andrei Anishchenko sees "huge potential" in the online education market. According to him, in the next few years, EBAC Online can take a leading position and reach annual revenue of $50 million.[1]

According to Kommersant, so far Russian projects in the field of online education have attracted money for development primarily within the country.
