2023: Medical Complex Construction Nears Completion

By the end of August 2023, the construction of the country's largest medical and diagnostic complex on the basis of the capital's infectious diseases clinical hospital (ICB) No. 1 was almost completed in Moscow. The facility is 98% ready, said Rafik Zagrutdinov, head of the Moscow Construction Department.

According to him, by the end of August 2023, the hospital is working on the adjustment of engineering systems. The builders completed the improvement of the hospital territory, the installation of small architectural forms began.

The new complex will consist of three buildings with a total area of ​ ​ 96.5 thousand square meters. meters, combined by underground space and overground crossings, which will allow patients and doctors to move around the hospital without going outside. The medical institution will receive modern CT, MRI, ultrasound, mobile X-ray machines and others. The complex will equip 546 Meltzer boxes with the possibility of expanding capacity to 996 beds. It is expected that 1,818 specialists will work there, including 450 doctors and 756 nurses.

The new medical and diagnostic complex of the infectious diseases clinical hospital No. 1 will become the best specialized hospital in Russia, Sergei Sobyanin said during an inspection of the construction of the facility in February 2023. Then the mayor of the capital noted that the institution is planned to be completed in August 2023, and the start of the first patients is scheduled for September 2023.[1]

The new complex began to be built in February 2020 on the site of the demolished outdated buildings of ICB No. 1 at the address: Volokolamskoe shosse, vl. 63.
