Familia was founded in 2000. The first Familia store appeared in Moscow at ul. Dubininskaya, 70. The opening of the first Familia store in off-price format took place in March 2013 in Perm (shopping center "7 Fridays"). A few days later, renovated stores in the Sunflowers and Familia shopping centers on Shchelkovskaya opened their doors in Moscow. The complete restructuring of the network was completed in 2015. Over the years, the company has steadily increased its presence in Russia, presenting the demanded off-price format in the domestic market. 2017 was marked by the beginning of cooperation with one of the country's grocery retailers of the O'KEY Group of Companies. The first shop-in-shop (a specialized company store opened in the supermarket) appeared at the end of the year in Surgut. Soon after that, stores were opened in million-plus cities - Yekaterinburg and Tyumen. Openings are planned in Krasnoyarsk and Barnaul, the largest cities in Siberia. The company has 200 stores in more than 70 cities of Russia. The total area of ​ ​ trading floors occupies more than 240,000 square meters. m.

Performance indicators

2023: Revenue growth by 21% to RUB 52.56 billion

The revenue of the Familia department store chain in 2023 amounted to 52.56 billion rubles against 43.38 billion rubles a year earlier (revenue growth by 21%; these and other indicators are given in accordance with Russian Accounting Standards/RAS/). The company's net profit in comparison with the same periods decreased from 4.97 billion to 3.84 billion rubles. This is evidenced by the data of the Kontur. From these materials it follows that the cost of sales of Familia in 2023 reached 28.1 billion rubles, increasing from 20.9 billion rubles in 2022. The retailer's gross profit increased from 22.49 billion to 24.46 billion rubles, and profit from sales decreased from 9.16 billion to 8.43 billion rubles.

Familia's business expenses in 2023 amounted to 16.03 billion rubles, which exceeds the same costs a year ago at 13.3 billion rubles. The company's accounts payable in 2023 amounted to 9.13 billion rubles against 10.31 billion rubles a year earlier. Accounts receivable during this time increased from 1.19 billion to 2.12 billion rubles.

As of January 1, 2024, the number of Familia stores reached 412, the total trading area was 457.1 thousand square meters.

Experts interviewed by Shopper's agree that the revenues of Familia and other fashion retailers in Russia in 2023 due to the opening of new stores and price increases. Infoline CEO Ivan Fedyakov estimated the increase in clothing prices in Russia at 15-20% at the end of 2023. At the same time, he also pointed to a "slight recovery in consumer activity," which, according to the analyst, also contributed to the rise in revenue of Familia and other fashion retailers in the Russian Federation.[1]
