Appointment of Leonid Dovladbegyan as Director General

Creating a Company

At the end of March 2023, it became known about the creation of a company by the telecom operator MTS, within the framework of which it is planned to develop projects in the field of smart home. The established structure was called MTS Smart home LLC.

According to Interfax, citing data from the SPARK-Interfax system, the authorized capital of the legal entity is 1.03 billion rubles. Alexey Davydov, who holds a similar position at Gulf Stream Security Systems JSC, which is part of the MTS asset portfolio, has been appointed General Director.

Within 3-5 years, MTS aims to cover about 10 million households with smart home solutions

As explained to the MTS news agency, MTS Smart House LLC will become the "base" company for the smart home direction. At the same time, the MTS press service refrained from providing any details.

Earlier, MTS President Vyacheslav Nikolaev said in an interview with RBC that MTS plans to open flagship communication salons in which smart home services will be presented. He did not announce the timing of the launch of the flagship salons and their number.

MTS planned to develop projects in the field of smart home within the framework of 4 areas: security (protection against penetration and accidents, smart insurance, climate management, housing and communal services), video analytics, geolocation and assistance services (medical care, SOS button, geotracking of children and relatives), home services (interaction with management companies, delivery, household services, etc.).

It was reported that within 3-5 years MTS aims to cover about 10 million households with smart home solutions. For this, in the next few years, MTS may invest at least several hundred million rubles in the direction, including through M&A and venture capital transactions.

In addition, by the beginning of April 2023, MTS continues to develop a smart speaker with a Marvin voice assistant. It is assumed that this device will become the center of the digital ecosystem and the MTS smart home system.^[1]
