Moat — the software developer founded in 2010, the attention used for measurement to advertizing and analysts on the advertizing campaigns and content of the websites. By April, 2017 the company attracted in total $67 million investments.

History

2017: Oracle buys Moat

On April 18, 2017 Oracle announced purchase of Moat for the purpose of improvement of the marketing business. Financial side of the agreement does not reveal. After closing of the transaction Moat will be a part of division of Oracle Data Cloud.

As a result of Moat acquisition the Oracle Data Cloud platform will offer brands and publishers all range of solutions for creation of targeted advertizing and its measurement thanks to what they will be able to improve results of almost all types of digital advertizing campaigns — the senior vice president and the head of division of Oracle Data Cloud Eric Roza (Eric Roza) notes.

Oracle purchased Moat; the price of the transaction is not set

Moat will remain the independent platform, despite entry into structure of Oracle Data Cloud. The American IT giant did not specify what Moat technologies are going to be used in the products. Oracle only says that Moat will introduce new opportunities for work and data analysis with the purpose to help marketing specialists and publishers to increase advertizing efficiency.[1]

Business in Russia

Moat entered the Russian market in 2016, having begun cooperation in Mail.Ru Group Internet holding. Within this partnership advertisers had an opportunity to estimate advertizing efficiency, placed on the Mail.Ru Group projects.

At the first stage of cooperation the full technical integration of the tool of analytics is carried out to the advertizing Mail.Ru Group platform, the instrument of independent confirmation of quality of advertizing on projects of the company is provided to advertisers: measurement of visibility of the advertizing message, a share of non-valid traffic and the reasons for which it can be recognized non-valid, measurement of interaction of users with advertizing creatives, etc.
