2021

The court declared bankrupt the clinic of the Novosibirsk NIITO due to debts

In early December 2021, the Arbitration Court of the Novosibirsk Region introduced a monitoring procedure for the ANO "Clinic of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery of NIITO." The bankruptcy proceedings were initiated in response to a lawsuit previously filed by Medical Integrator, a company engaged in the wholesale of medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Read more here.

Ex-head of the Novosibirsk Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics sentenced to 4 years in prison for embezzlement of ₽1,3 billion

In November 2021, the Central District Court of Novosibirsk convicted the former director of the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (NIITO) named after Ya. L. Tsivyan Mihail Sadovyi. 2017: Spinal surgery with sagittal balance

In April 2017, the Novosibirsk Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics (NNIITO) began to conduct unique spinal surgery using an innovative approach - "sagittal balance." The operations were performed within the framework of the educational program Medtronic Academia with the participation of Russian and foreign doctors.

Sagittal balance is a neutral vertical alignment of the spine in the sagittal plane, providing a reduction in stress loads on musculoskeletal structures. When planning an operation taking into account the sagittal balance, the correct mathematical model is developed for the patient, which avoids further violations and subsequent operations.

Sagittal balance allows surgery to be performed once

Indicative spinal surgery using sagittal balance was carried out by the director of the surgical research laboratory of the Medical University of Bordeaux, Professor Jean Charles Luek and the head of the neurosurgery department of NIITO, Alexander Krutko.

The meaning of surgery is to give good, correct posture and operate only once. Although this is a complex surgery, it allows a person to return to the normal path, to be a socially active person, without disability, - said Alexander Krutko.

According to him, sagittal balance is a phenomenon in which the muscles and spine function properly, and this brings relief to a person, he walks straight.

More recently, any surgical interventions on the spine frightened people, since repeated surgical interventions were needed for the result. Sagittal balance allows operations to be performed once.

In the future, an innovative treatment method that allows you to correct posture and get rid of back pain is planned to be used in all regions of the Siberian Federal District.^[1]
