2008: Renamed Volga State Service University

On May 15, 2008, according to order No. 462, Federal Education Agency Tolyatti state the service university was renamed Volga State Service University (PVGUS).

2006: Renamed Togliatti State Service University

January 17, 2006 - in the year of its 25th anniversary, the university rises to the highest level: by order No. 5 of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Togliatti State Academy of Service was renamed the State Educational Institution of Higher Education "Togliatti State University of Service" (TGUS).

2004: Renamed Togliatti State Service Academy

On April 8, 2004, by order No. 1529 of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Togliatti State Service Institute was renamed the Togliatti State Service Academy. The structure of TGAS was made up of 4 faculties, 21 departments, 22 problem and 13 industry laboratories.

2002: Transformation of the branch into an independent university

On November 1, 2002, by order No. 1539-r of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Volga Technological Institute of Service is distinguished from the Moscow State University of Service and becomes an independent university - the Togliatti State Institute of Service (TGIS).

1993: Renaming to Volga Technological Service Institute

On October 25, 1993, the status of a branch within the framework of the head university changes: TfMTI is renamed the Volga Technological Institute of Service (PTIS).

1981: Opening of the Togliatti branch of the Moscow Institute of Technology

On August 6, 1981, by order No. 263 of the Ministry of Consumer Services of the RSFSR, a branch of the Moscow Institute of Technology was opened in Togliatti, Kuibyshev Region. The Togliatti branch of the Moscow Institute of Technology (TfMTI) receives the first 100 students in the specialties "Organization and rationing of labor" and "Accounting."
