PlanGrid  develops the software which helps contractors and owners of the companies jointly and to work far off on drawings, projects, photos and other documents, replacing paper materials with their digital copies.  By November, 2018 in the company 400 people work, and more than 120 thousand people use the paid PlanGrid functions. For all the time of work since 2011 until entry into the structure of Autodesk the startup attracted in total $69 million.

History

2018: Autodesk purchased PlanGrid for $875 million

On November 20, 2018 Autodesk announced acquisition of PlanGrid for $875 million that there is twice more market value of service for joint work of builders and architects in 2015. Then investors estimated the company at $419 million.

It is going execute all formalities concerning sale of PlanGrid of Autodesk company until the end of January, 2019. After that the software of PlanGrid will be integrated with a complex for automated design of Autodesk Revit and also with Autodesk BIM 360 platform.

In construction the acute shortage of labor power takes place. Work becomes more and more, and terms of their accomplishment — it is less. Autodesk is sure that this purchase will allow the company even quicker "improve work flows for each party involved in construction".

As notes the Fortune edition, purchase of PlanGrid became the largest acquisition in the history of Autodesk and also the first large deal from the moment of Andrew Anagnost's arrival on a post of the CEO of the company. Autodesk is not going to move the staff of PlanGrid.[1]
