Uhana — the American developer of the AI platform founded in 2016 which helps telecommunication operators to optimize the networks. The software offered by the company consists of two principal components:

  • mechanism of processing of data streams. It collects operational data from infrastructure of telecom provider;
  • module of machine learning. It turns normal data into knowledge, useful to operators.

History

2019: VMware purchased Uhana

At the end of July, 2019 VMware announced Uhana acquisition. Financial and other making transactions of the company did not begin to open.

It is supposed that purchase of Uhana will strengthen telecommunication business of VMware which basis is the platform for management of operator networks vCloud NFV. It has more than 70 clients of Sprint and Vodafone worldwide among whom — AT&T (for July, 2019).

Uhana technologies will help to improve tools for the complemented analytics which VMware sells together with vCloud NFC. In particular, the company is going to build in these developments solutions of VMware Smart Assurance and VMware Smart Experience which allow operators to detect technical issues and to analyze efficiency of the transactions.

Software of Uhana provides to operators understanding of service quality of users. "Smart" algorithms scan collected operational data on existence of anomalies, note potential problems in network and provide recommendations about their elimination. Deviations are marked proceeding from their importance to help specialists to define what of them should be eliminated first of all.

VMware says that algorithms Uhana are rather sensitive to detect the local anomalies mentioning only certain user groups or cloud applicaions.[1]
