Umlaut is a global cross-industry company with a full range of services that offers consulting and fullfilm services to customers around the world. Umlaut was founded in 2019 after separation from the consulting company P3 Group. In the same year, the company signed a partnership agreement with Amazon.com to provide system integration and testing services for automakers wishing to integrate Alexa into cars.

History

2021: Accenture bought Umlaut

In mid-June 2021, Accenture announced the acquisition of Umlaut, a consulting and technology company that helps implement cloud solutions and AI. Accenture expects the merger with Umlaut to assist the company in the development of the industrial Internet of Things.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. On its website, the German company Umlaut reports that it has more than 4,000 employees, and annual income exceeds 340 million euros.

Accenture bought Umlaut consulting company

Over the past few years, Accenture has invested heavily in the development of its Industry X division, through which it targets the industrial IoT market. Since 2017, Accenture has bought about 20 companies to create its Industry X division. Umlaut is one of the largest acquisitions of Accenture.

Umlaut has more than 20 subsidiaries operating in various fields. According to the German company, this helps industrial companies develop new hardware products, as well as test the so-called "smart connected products," including smart cars. Another priority area for Umlaut is software development.

In 2021, Umlaut entered into a partnership agreement with the manufacturer of lidar sensors Velodyne Lidar to support joint customers from the automotive sector. According to the company, she worked in the market of autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems for more than ten years.[1]
