Biography

Svetlana Balanova was born in Moscow in 1970.

Graduated with honors from the Moscow state linguistic university.

Has degree of MBA of business school of the Open university of Great Britain (Open University Business School, UK).

The diplomaed director (Dip IoD) – qualification of the British Institute of Directors (Institute of Directors, UK).

Nearly 20 years worked in 3M company where there passed a career way from a position of the coordinator, the head of sales department and goods marketing for office to the CEO "3M Russia", and then - to the president of the international business "Electronic monitoring" of 3M company, the chief operating officer "3M of Attenti (Israel).

Since 2012 held a position of the CEO of IBS company, having released Sergey Matsotsky from this duty.

Since 2019 also took a position of the independent director in the supervisory board of non-bank credit organization of National Settlement Depositary joint-stock company.

2020: Transition to work to Gazprom Media Holding

In March, 2020 Svetlana Balanova left IBS and, according to TAdviser, passed to work into Gazprom Media Holding. The press service of Gazprom Media Holding confirmed it and specified TAdviser that since March 27 Svetlana Balanova was appointed to the position of the First Deputy CEO of the company.

Instead of Svetlana Balanova Grigory Kocharov was appointed to the position of the CEO of IBS.

Balanova's appointment in Gazprom Media Holding was preceded by large staff movement at the level of top management: in March the 2020th the holding was headed by the former head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov.

2021: CEO of "National media group"

Svetlana Balanova will become the new CEO of "National Media Group" (NMG) reported in the press service of NMG on January 29, 2021.

As the CEO Balanov will replace Olga Paskina who leaves on February 5 a post of the CEO of NMG after five years of work and strategy implementation. Formation of strategy of digital transformation was one of its main objectives. NMG say that Paskolva successfully carried out this task.

NMG – the private media holding, largest in Russia, created in 2008 by a join path of media assets of Alexey Mordashov, Bank Rossiya, Surgutneftegas and Sogaz insurance group.

NMG manages a diversified asset portfolio in key segments of the Russian media market. Among them – Channel One, REN-TV, CTC Media, Channel Five, Viasat Russia, etc.

Achievements and awards

From 2014 to 2019 entered the list of the best bosses in the IT industry within the annual rating of "Top-1000 of top managers of Russia" of the Association of Managers of Russia (AMR) and Kommersant Publishing House.

In the 2012th, 2013th and 2014 joined in the rating of Company magazine: "Top-50 of the most influential women in the Russian business".

In 2013 became the winner in the Master of Business nomination within the tender "Business Women — 2013" which was carried out in Russia for the first time within the international initiative of EY company (Ernst & Young) of support and assistance to strengthening of positions of women in business.

The winner of an award of the international recognition of "TIAW World of Difference 100 Awards" for 2013 of the International alliance of women. The international alliance of women (The International Alliance for Women, TIAW) integrates more than 35 thousand business women and the organizations from 6 continents and is one of the largest international "umbrella" associations of women in business.

In 2009 was the board member of the American chamber of commerce in Russia.

In 2009 entered the list of 500 managers included in a reserve of administrative staff, who are under patronage of the Russian President.

In 2007 entered rating "The best top managers of Ukraine" (the rating of the Kompanyon magazine).
