Biography

Born April 9, 1971 in Moscow.

In 1993 he graduated from MIIT with a degree in Electronic Computers, Complexes, Systems and Networks, Qualification System Engineer.

He began his career in the banking sector in 2006 at the National Bank Trust, where he led the implementation of ISUBD in the bank's branches.

In 2010-2012. worked at VTB Bank - managed the project for the development of the bank's IT systems.

In 2012, he joined Binbank as the head of the ABS Development Center. He was responsible for managing the branch network reorganization project.

In 2014-2015 - Managing Director of the Department of Operations at Rosselkhozbank. Ilya Kuchugin oversaw the transformation program of the bank's operating model.

In 2015-2016 - Director of the Banking Technology Development Department of the Operational and IT Support Unit of Binbank. In 2016, he was appointed head of the information technology unit. In this position, he was engaged in the development of an IT strategy and the implementation of projects for technological integration of Binbank and banks of the Bin group.

In October 2017, Ilya Kuchugin moved to Zenit Bank as director of the information technology unit. The bank said that in this position Kuchugin was primarily involved in the modernization and improvement of IT processes and infrastructure.

Kuchugin moved to a new place after earlier in September the Central Bank announced the reorganization of Binbank by the Banking Sector Consolidation Fund. Mikhail Shishkhanov, the main owner of Binbank, asked for the reorganization of the regulator. He acknowledged that the business model of the credit institution was overly aggressive and worked only in a growing or stable market. Also, according to him, Binbank could not "digest" the accession of the problematic "MDM Bank," which was acquired in 2015[1].
