They provide communities of inventors and students with cloud access to a powerful digital environment for designing, developing, and co-creating innovations.

3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers will help combine the ideas of inventors and mentors to increase the efficiency of the creative process, interaction and collaboration. On October 29, 2020, Dassault Systèmes introduced the next version of its 3D design and design package SolidWorks 2021. 2018: SolidWorks 2019

On October 2, 2018, Dassault Systèmes announced the launch of SOLIDWORKS 2019, an updated version of the 3D design and design application package. 2017: End-to-end integration with Altium Designer

On November 29, 2017, the SWR Group announced the development of end-to-end integration technology between SolidWorks and Altium Designer as part of the PLM concept in accordance with the terms of the contract concluded with Altium Limited.

When creating SolidWorks Composer, developers tried to make 3D technologies more accessible to the consumer market, new multimedia technologies and non-engineering specialists, primarily due to the possibility of reusing existing CAD geometry.

SolidWorks Composer helps you create a wide range of online documentation and electronic content:

SWR-Electrics 2016

On December 9, 2015, SolidWorks Russia announced the release of an upgraded version of the SWR-Electric 2016 module, designed to design wire bundles, their volumetric layout, automatically calculate the number of materials used and create an installation template within the framework of GOST requirements. The module is intended for use in the environment SolidWorks 2016[3].

Major version changes:

  • System performance has increased several times. Operations such as importing a link table or laying wires are accelerated by an order of magnitude or more, and operations like adding shells to an installation are accelerated by 2-3 orders. Performance gains are increasing with the volume of installation data.

SolidWorks Education Edition 2012-2013

Dassault Systèmes, 3DExperience Company introduced the June 2012 SolidWorks Education Edition 2012-2013. This version improves the tools for mechanical design, modeling, rational design and cost tracking, which allows students to solve real design problems and be more competitive in the modern global labor market.

In addition to the software that enhances the skills and thus the competitiveness of students, Dassault Systèmes provides a complete library of SolidWorks curricula, which includes more than 20 practical projects for students at all levels. The tasks of designing and manufacturing bridges, cars and medieval throwing machines will make the study of science, technology, design and mathematics more interesting. The latest version of the product also supports access to Facebook directly from the SolidWorks application, which makes it easier to interact with other users. Students can now show projects to friends by placing them on their personal pages, or to the entire SolidWorks community by placing the project on the Facebook SolidWorks page.

In addition, the new version, released this year, focuses on the capabilities of rational design. The updated "Instructor CAD Guide" includes a chapter on sound design that allows students to analyze the expected environmental impact of their developments. Educational institutions that have subscribed to the SolidWorks Education Edition can now conduct the Certified Sustainable Design Associate (CSDA) exam in addition to the Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) exam. During this new exam, fundamental life-cycle assessment skills and general knowledge of the environmental impact of products are tested. Certificates of SolidWorks are a great advantage in getting a job, as they confirm the professional competence of students.

Compared to SolidWorks Premium 2012 software, the new education edition includes the following enhancements:

  • application for calculation of cooling of electronic equipment, which allows analyzing thermal effects in order to avoid melting of electronic components of articles;
  • application for modeling air flow in heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems;
  • application for calculation of costs for design and manufacture, products.

The following additional products that support SolidWorks Education Edition are available through SolidWorks resellers:

  • SolidWorks Simulation, software for modeling the operation of designed products in real conditions;
  • Equation editor, a tool that helps students visualize their mathematical skills and theoretical ideas;
  • DraftSight, free * two-dimensional drawing application containing a new curriculum for teachers, available by subscription.

Agreement with Trace Software to integrate its technologies into SolidWorks

In 2012, Dassault Systèmes partnered with Trace Software to integrate and sell its technologies as part of SOLIDWORKS Electrical applications.
