2020: Crowdfunding raises nearly 170 million euros in Spain

And again, Crowdlending platforms are leading with 49,158,300 euros. They are followed by investment platforms (Equity Crowdfunding) with 44,548,631 euros. In third place is real estate crowdfunding with 29,319,570 euros. In fourth place is crowdfunding donations with 26,957,162 euros, and closes the list of crowdfunding rewards with 17,046,264 euros.

For the first time in several years, Spain has seen a decline in crowdfunding fundraising due to the situation generated by Covid-19. Their reduction has led to a decrease in the overall level of fund-raising, while previously they clearly increased it. Despite this decline in fundraising, Equity Crowdfunding remains steady and has held record fundraising campaigns, while Rewards Crowdfunding and Donations Crowdfunding have increased fundraising.

In addition, in sectors such as Loan Crowdfunding and Real Estate, there is a diversification of investments and the launch of new platforms, which allows us to think that 2021 will be a great year for crowdfunding.

With a share of 29.43% of the money raised through crowdfunding in Spain, credit crowdfunding continues to be the leader in fundraising in Spain, despite the fact that it reduced the amount of money issued by 40% compared to 2019, where 82,480,570 euros were raised, compared to 49,158,300 euros in 2020.

Large leading platforms have reduced their fees. The three leading platforms are MytripleA, October and Grow.ly, all three have reduced fundraising.

Most platforms have retained their positions and begin to take off in 2021. Greater sector diversification means less weight, less reliance on large platforms, and more opportunities for lending and investment.
