According to her, the tasks of the new center include the creation of the necessary conditions for the education, development and career guidance of children with disabilities. The selection will take into account academic achievements, the results of participation in subject olympiads, competitions and other events.

It is noted that the center accepts children with visual disabilities who have mastered the adapted programs of the main general education of blind students not lower than the sixth grade. Applicants will be enrolled in full-time education from the seventh grade, taking into account the extension of the terms of general education.

The tests themselves are divided into two stages. The first is control testing in Russian and English, as well as in mathematics. The second is selection using information technology and a number of interviews.

During the training period, the children will live in boarding school No. 1, with the exception of the winter and summer holidays.

The All-Russian Center for Blind Students who have shown outstanding academic abilities was organized with the participation of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Association of Heads of Educational Organizations for Students with Visual Impairments.[1]
