Kuban State University

For the first time, Kuban State University was opened in Krasnodar on September 5 (19), 1920. His first elected rector was the former general of the tsarist army, a major historian, specialist in ancient Russian paleography Nikander Alexandrovich Marx.

In the same September 1920, the Institute of Public Education was created. The famine and financial crisis in Soviet Russia led to the abolition of many universities, including Kuban State University. Students and teachers of the university moved to the only preserved university - the Institute of Public Education, which was renamed the Kuban Higher Pedagogical Institute.

Kuban State University in the 2000s is a large educational and scientific complex. In 2002, Kuban State University was awarded the Russian-Swiss Business Club a gold medal for its impeccable business reputation, and in 2004 and 2005 it entered the hundred best universities in Russia and was awarded the European Quality gold medal.
