The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) directly participates in development of standards and rules of shipbuilding, performs works on control of observance of requirements of international conventions and issue of the relevant documents.
History
Classification society the Russian maritime register of shipping is created on December 31, 1913. Since 1969 RS is a member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
Main objectives:
- security of human life at the sea;
- ensuring safe navigation of vessels;
- ensuring reliable transportation of goods at the sea and internal waterways;
- prevention of environmental pollution.
