2022: Resignation from the post of head of Beluga Group

The founder of Beluga Group, Alexander Mechetin, left the post of head of the company. The press service of the alcohol manufacturer announced this on December 7, 2022.

According to the group, Alexander Mechetin decided to leave the executive positions held in the group. He also ceased to be a controlling shareholder, reducing the share of ownership of Beluga Group shares from 58% to 39.38%.

The Board of Directors and employees thank Alexander Mechetin for his bright leadership and his role in the achievements of the group, which is now one of the leaders in the Russian alcohol market and is included in the leading ratings of the country's top companies. Under his leadership, the organization transformed from a local vodka producer into the largest player in the industry, which has a wide portfolio of brands in all categories of alcohol. In addition, Alexander has created a unique team of industry experts: most of the top managers have been with the company since its inception, the group said in a statement.

Konstantin Prokhorov, who heads the retail business in the group and is responsible for the development and operating activities of VinLab, has been appointed the new chairman of the board of Beluga Group. As noted in the group, Prokhorov has been working in the company for more than 20 years, of which 15 years have been in leadership positions. He has the necessary knowledge of operational processes, is immersed in the specifics of the industry and BELUGA GROUP, and also has large-scale management experience, Beluga Group added.

By December 2022, Beluga Group operates five enterprises, a distillery, a wine farm, its own distribution system and a network of retail stores "Vinlab." The drinks supermarket chain was founded in 2010 and by December 2022 has more than 1200 stores in 11 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.[1]

2024: Sale of Royal Credit Bank

In mid-April 2024, it became known that Alexander Mechetin, the founder of the Novabev Group company (one of the largest alcohol producers in Russia), sold the Far Eastern Royal Credit Bank. In addition, the chairman of the board of the bank Victoria Ivanova and the chairman of the board of directors of Novabev Group Nikolai Belokopytov left the shareholders of the credit organization.
