Education

Zhanna Chefranova - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

In 1999, she defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences on the topic "Dynamics of psychophysiological and clinical-neurological characteristics in idiopathic hypotension in the age aspect" and in the same year she began working as an assistant in the Department of Psychiatry, Psychology, Neurology and Neurosurgery. In 2004 she defended her doctoral dissertation.

Career

2023: Appointment as Senator from Belgorod Oblast

In October 2023, the Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov appointed the ex-head physician of the regional hospital Zhanna Chefranova as a senator from the region instead of the departed Nikolai Ryzhkov.

He also stressed that when reducing the revenues of the regional budget and, if necessary, direct a large amount of resources to restore housing and social infrastructure, additional assistance is required from the federal center.

By October 17, 2023, Zhanna Chefranova is 55 years old. Earlier in 2023, she won the by-election to the Belgorod Regional Duma. In October 2023, Chefranova left the post of head physician of the Belgorod Regional Clinical Hospital of St. Joasaph, which she held for ten years.

On October 2, 2023, it was reported that the oldest senator and ex-prime minister of the USSR Nikolai Ryzhkov prematurely surrendered the senator's mandate. The next day, Ryzhkov himself announced that he could continue working in the Federation Council after the early termination of senatorial powers as an adviser to the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.[1]
