2019: Start of sales of Cisco Aironet 4800 in Russia

On February 15, 2019 the Cisco company announced the beginning of sales in Russia access points of Wi-fi Cisco Aironet of series 4800 which is a part of architecture of Cisco DNA – the complex platform acting on the basis of intentions and allowing to transform data on network traffic to efficient analytics.

According to the statement of the producer, key feature of access point of Cisco Aironet of series 4800 – an opportunity for work the active sensor for the intentsionno-focused network taking into account location of the client device. It allows service IT to observe on the central monitor the history of movement of clients with display of the status of connection and other technical parameters. Such functionality allows to be informed on the occurred incidents in network: about that, for example, for what reason at employees communication, etc. was interrupted yesterday. All picture of a radio communication in a specific point is displayed on the terminal that releases time which radio engineers spend on studying of an incident and attempt of repetition of a situation in which the problem was observed.

According to the producer, the access point of Cisco Aironet 4800 shows high performance in premises with a high density of clients thanks to a chipset of development of Cisco, architecture with distributed control and to a set of functionality for HD networks.

Cisco noted that the access point has the following functionality:

  • The selected radio interface for work of a point, pro-active monitoring of a wireless network, detection of problems in network still before they become problems for users.
  • The built-in opportunities of positioning of WiFi and BLE devices with a high accuracy for collection of information about location and movement of company assets, employees, guests. This information can be used for business process optimization, security, targeted marketing or service of navigation.
  • Permanent tracking of the attacks on a wireless network, interfering sources and harmful devices in network.
  • Deep performance review of applications of clients, automatic identification more than 240 types of anomalies in network.
  • The flexible radio allowing access point to use double radio in the range of 5 GHz that increases network performance by 25%.
  • The optimized work with the devices using operating system iOS.

2017: Line of access points of Aironet 1815

On April 13, 2017 the Cisco company provided a lineup of the wireless access points of an outdoor and internal installation developed for small businesses.

Access points of the Cisco Aironet 1815 Access Point series — the solution of wireless access of a corporate class. The line of Cisco Aironet 1815 is developed taking into account accumulation of volume of traffic. Supports standard 802.11ac of Wave 2 and functionality of a corporate class.

As a part of a line four models:

  • 1815i — the universal solution for the small and medium enterprise;
  • 1815t - it is intended for installation in microbranches and remote work;
  • 1815w - it is focused on use in hotels, hostels, apartment houses, etc.;
  • 1815m - for the enterprises needing expansion of a coverage. It is equipped with the transmitter of the increased power.

These access points are suitable for the organizations limited in the budget taking into account development perspectives.

The access point of Cisco Aironet 1540 Access Point — is intended for the organization of network out of premises. Aironet 1540 maintains functionality of a corporate class and standard 802.11ac of Wave 2. The device has the small sizes, is reliable and steady against external influences.

2016

Cisco Aironet 1850

On January 15, 2016 the Cisco Systems company announced an exit of corporate access point of the initial Cisco Aironet 1850 level.

Aironet 1850 provides capacity to 1.7 GB / page. This model is completed with four integrated or external dual band antennas. The model is produced in two options: for use in office spaces (1850i) and for operation in difficult environmental conditions (1850e).

Cisco access point with support:

  • the second stage (or "waves") standard 802.11ac – wave 2;
  • Cisco Mobility Express – the built-in functionality of the controller on access point (for small locations and remote offices).

There are two modifications: 1850i – for office spaces and 1850e – for difficult environmental conditions (warehouse, the plants), each of which is issued with two radio modules (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). Access points are optimized for work of a wireless network of standard 802.11ac and are backward-compatible with standards 802.11a/g/n.

  • capacity up to 1.7 Gbps (width of the channel 80 MHz);
  • support of work in the mode of multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) in mode 4x4 with three space flows (four flows for SU-MIMO);

On January 15, 2016 the Cisco Systems company announced release of corporate access point of Cisco Aironet 1830.

Aironet 1830 provide connection speed to 867 Mbps. Devices are completed with three integrated dual band antennas. These access points are focused on use in small office spaces and perfectly are suitable for service of the enterprises of small and medium business.

The access point of the initial Cisco Aironet 1830 level continues a line of devices with support of standard 802.11ac of wave 2 and provides connection speed to 867 Mbps. Cisco Aironet 1830 have the integrated dual band antennas and are optimized for use in office spaces.

2015

Aironet 1700 release in Tver

On May 6, 2015 the Cisco company announced start in Tver productions of wireless access points of Aironet 1700 on a production basis of contract[1].

Considering everything that was written recently about use at operation of own devices of mobile access, it becomes absolutely clear that corporate IT managers are simply obliged to take a factor of performance of wireless access points into account. With increase in number of clients the role of this factor, in terms of a scope and density of clients, will only increase in network. Moreover, to users of smartphones and tablets it can be more difficult to be connected to access point, than owners of notebooks. It can be connected with the fact that the majority of such devices do not support standard 802.11n or works with outdated version 802.11g/a. To satisfy the growing needs of such new clients, the access point of maximum capacity is necessary.

Today practically all sellers say that their equipment has "maximum" or "the best in the industry" performance. But from where to buyers know that these statements are authentic? At the worst, it is possible to test the device, but there is easier way: check whether assurances of the seller are confirmed with the certificate of independent testing laboratory. One of such laboratories – Miercom – published the report on results of cross-validation testings of access point of Cisco Aironet 3600 and the competing device. Follows from the report of Miercom laboratory that the wireless access point of Cisco supports three times more clients, than her competitor. At the same time Cisco Aironet 3600 provides high capacity and data transfer rate on long distance even in the conditions of radio interferences. Besides, in comparison with the competitor, the wireless access point of Cisco spends less charge of accumulators of such wireless devices as tablets for 38%.

Access points of series 1700 support the first wave of standard 802.11ac, use MIMO according to scheme 3x3 and two space flows, providing the reference speed of connection to 867 Mbps.

Solutions perform a number of functions:

  • preventive protection against CleanAir Express radio interferences,
  • the optimized roaming,
  • MIMO correction.

Devices have elegant appearance, are supplied with the built-in antennas. Access points of Cisco Aironet 1700 can be established as on a false ceiling, to be built in so in it, to work independently or under control of the wireless controller.
