VMware Automated Virtual Assistant (AVA) is a virtual assistant which can help with search of documentation on products of VMware.

2019: Release of the beta of a virtual assistant

On February 18, 2019 the VMware company announced release of the beta of VMware Automated Virtual Assistant (AVA) service - a virtual assistant which can help you with search of documentation on products of VMware. This assistant is provided in the form of the chat-bot which can be used by means of language of natural requests of NLP (natural language processing). It aggregates knowledge from documentation on vSphere, Horizon, vSAN and all other products and also has answers to the relevant FAQs which are according to almost all solutions of VMware.

According to the company, for activation of the assistant to VMware of AVA it is necessary to visit the website VMware Docs and to open a pop-up window from any page.

While AVA is in the Training Mode mode - it means that the engine still goes through a training stage, and the user can help it to answer correctly questions with the feedback (the corresponding functionality is for this purpose provided - for example, to mark what of the offered options was the best). It will allow to integrate related queries and to issue more relevant results in the future.

In addition to requests to documentation and frequently asked questions, the user can share with AVA the problem (concerning virtual infrastructure) - and she will try to find the solution.

Besides, on the picture it is shown above that AVA remembers a conversation context. It remembered that it will be a question of the vSphere platform of version 6.5, and she will perceive all further questions as belonging to this product.

For February, 2019 Automated Virtual Assistant is available only in English, but promise also support of other languages.[1]
