2022: Presentation of working prototype of MR-simulator based on Avatar CAS

On March 17, 2022, the Roselectronics holding of Rostec State Corporation presented a working prototype of a next-generation simulator based on hybrid reality technologies (Mixed reality, MR). The solution, created on the basis of the Avatar software and technical complex, allows you to train military personnel, as well as specialists for industry, aviation and nuclear energy by combining real and virtual objects in a single environment, Rostec representatives told TAdviser.

Rostec introduced a working prototype of a hybrid reality simulator for the military

It is assumed that simulators developed using the Avatar CAS will become the next generation of training facilities. The devices will provide full-scale control and assessment of the actions of the trainees and monitoring the state of the equipment with which they interact.

The complex includes virtual reality glasses, motion sensors for hands and legs, as well as a computer placed in a special backpack, which provides freedom of movement of the user in space.

Simulators will ensure full-scale control and assessment of trainees "actions

Monitoring is carried out using special devices for positioning static and dynamic objects located on trainees and equipment, as well as means for transmitting information to the workplace of the lesson manager. Based on the obtained data, information is processed to determine the completeness, quality and time of tactical and tactical-special standards.

"The use of hybrid reality technologies makes it possible to significantly increase the efficiency of training military personnel, as well as specialists of enterprises of high-tech industries. The name of the Avatar project was not chosen by chance. The software and technical complex makes it possible to make the user's stay in the virtual world as natural as possible, "said Sergey Sakhnenko, general director of the United Instrument-Making Corporation (operating under the Roselectronika brand).

According to him, at the next stage a prototype will be created and all the necessary tests carried out, after which Avatar will be possible to supply customers.

The project is being implemented by the Ryazan Radio Plant (part of Roselectronics) together with the Era Technopolice.

2021: Creation of a complex for group training of the military in virtual reality

June 11, 2021 it became known about the creation in Russia of technology for group training of the military in virtual reality. The system called Avatar was developed by the Ryazan Radio Plant (part of the Roselectronics holding of Rostec State Corporation), specializing in training complexes for the Armed Forces of the  Russian Federation.

Avatar is  a complex of software and technical means of interaction between real and virtual objects. It is based on hybrid reality and network technologies and is designed to provide full-scale control and assessment of the actions of military personnel and change the state of military communications equipment facilities that they control.

In Russia, created a complex for group training of the military in virtual reality

The system can be used when conducting combat coordination of units on real samples of military communications equipment, as well as for single and group training of military personnel in a training class using software-virtual simulators.

According to the developers, their solution can be used not only for training military personnel, but also for training in working with various equipment in areas such as industrial production, transport safety, aviation.

Thanks to the Avatar project, the Ryazan Radio Plant became a member of the Era military innovative technopolis, taking "another step towards securing the title of leading developer of innovative solutions when creating training equipment for communications troops," said  Sergey Seredenko, Deputy General Director for Scientific and Technical Development of the Ryazan Radio Plant.

According to him, the use of hybrid reality technologies today is an actively developing trend. The creation of training complexes for military personnel is one of the main competencies of the Ryazan radio plant.[1]
