2019: Release of the EOS 90D reflex camera

On August 28, 2019 the Canon company announced release of the EOS 90D reflex camera with a high speed of shooting and high resolution. The EOS 90D model — the fast and reliable reflex camera with the strong body in usual design — will be suitable for shooting of sports competitions or wild animals.

According to the producer, with the provided camera the photographer will be able to imprint the brightest moments of life. In model the Canon DIGIC 8 processor of the last generation which provides the high processing speed, fast reaction and work of functions of photo and video filming is used. An electronic system with the minimum exposure 1/16,000 with guarantees high quality when shooting quickly moving objects and gives to the photographer confidence in situations when time is limited. At such exposure it is possible to remove with wider diaphragm even at natural lighting to reduce depth of field.

As noted in Canon, EOS 90D supports speed the 10th frame / with with the monitoring autofocusing and the 11th frame / with in the Live View mode — the optimal mode for shooting of sport or wild animals. The optical view-finder reduces a delay of operation of a lock and provides the responsiveness necessary, for example, when shooting birds in flight. And intellectual functions of the display allow to control completely composition of a frame and setup of shooting. Even if an object moves not only quickly, but also is unpredictable, the photographer will be able to make more good photos thanks to the high frequency of continuous shooting and support of long series — to 58 JPEG images in a row in permission of L. Besides, EOS 90D works from the accumulator longer: it is possible to remove up to 1300 frames (it is measured according to the CIPA standard). Function of a breketing of focusing allows to increase easily depth of field by means of imposing of several frames in the DPP program.

The camera allows to create the qualitative, detailed pictures without greasing and artifacts thanks to the sensor of the image APS-C 32.5 Mpiks: such permission is comparable with characteristics of full motion cameras, but the provided camera has also additional benefits of the APS-C format. Thanks to the DIGIC 8 processor the camera received functions of the EOS family. Possibilities of the photographer extended even more, including when framing, and detailing images became higher, than before. Also the processor allows to use means of correction of lenses, including digital optimization of a lens and correction of dispersion: it is possible to receive qualitative images without additional processing. Thanks to high quality of the images which are turning out right after shooting to support of Wi-fi and Bluetooth creators of content will be able to publish pictures in social networks practically in the report mode from the place of events. That photos turned out sharp and realistic, naturally transferred looks and the movement, Canon equipped the device with the fast and exact monitoring autofocusing on eyes. In EOS 90D this system works in combination with the sensor of an expozamer of RGB+IR with resolution of 220,000 pixels and function of detection of flicker that provides high-quality face recognition and more exact control of exposure in general. Thanks to high maximum photosensitivity of ISO (range from 100 to 25,600) the sensor allows to increase without prejudice to quality resolution when shooting in low-light-level conditions, claim in Canon.

EOS 90D is the universal camera for photo and video filming. The permission 4K allowing to use all field of the overview of the set lens and shooting in the Full HD format with the increased picture frequency (to the 120th the frame / c) is opened for the owner by such opportunities as slow-motion shot, framing and shooting in ultrahigh permission. In the camera EOS 90D also permission 4K in the cropped mode is available. At the same time at approach of an object image quality remains. It means that the operator will be able to create high-quality video including from long distance: it is possible to create the interesting movie even if it is impossible to approach close the scene of action, for example, on a safari, noted in Canon.

According to the statement of the producer, the system of autofocusing Canon Dual PixelCMOS AF available in the Full HD modes and 4K on the most part of the area of a frame (88 x 100%), provides smooth and exact tracking of focus — as at professional video filming. This technology guarantees the sharp image of the subject on an indistinct background, and function of tracking on eyes helps to hold focus on the person for an accurate and expressive video series.

According to the producer, the connector for the microphone will allow video bloggers and creators of content to use the external microphone for record of an accurate sound without distortions. The camera EOS 90D has also the connector for earphones that it was possible to control better sound quality during shooting of video. This function provides a good sound when action happens not directly in front of the camera, and minimizes the postprocessing volume as the sound level can be managed directly during writing.

As noted in Canon, the ergonomic design of the camera includes convenient and usual management tools for effective control of parameters in any film-making situation. EOS 90D has the easy body with the big field of capture for the improved management and balance — especially when using the long lenses suitable for shooting of sports competitions or wild animals. The programmable EOS buttons and two multifunction disks of management — including the multicontroller on back face of the camera as in professional models — will help the fans of the photo aiming to increase the skill, intuitively and surely to manage the camera, more precisely to select focusing points and it is easy to find the necessary settings. The camera EOS 90D has a number of the configured functions allowing to set uniform style to photos or video. The touch screen with a diagonal of 7.7 cm helps to arrange with regulated slope angle surely a frame even at bright light or when shooting from an uncomfortable position.
