Column Garden (a farm for the house)

2019: Announcement

At the end of December, 2019 provided to LG a vertical farm for the house - the "smart" Column Garden system which will allow to grow up vegetables directly indoors.

Column Garden represents the device of columned type which reproduces ideal conditions for cultivation of greens and vegetables all the year round, says the company. On height of Column Garden it is comparable to the big refrigerator, however is twice wider than it. It consists of a set of compartments where special conditions are supported: LED illumination, forced air circulation, controlled temperature and humidity change depending on time of day and should provide the fastest cultivation of different vegetables, greens and salads.

Technologies on the basis of artificial intelligence allow the user to configure the farm mode, but can and independently support its work. For example, water supply is precisely regulated that a remaining balance did not stand in compartments, thereby preventing growth of seaweed and emergence of unpleasant smells. At the same time using the smartphone the user can change air temperature and also set different operation algorithms which will allow to change temperature condition and lighting depending on time of day. The special application allows not only to trace conditions in the device, but also makes recommendations for receiving a top yield.

In Column Garden for house gardening special universal sowing packets are used. In total in the device it is possible to land up to 24 bags of seeds is, according to LG, will allow to provide with vegetables family of four people. Column Garden price by the end of December, 2019 is not disclosed, however it is known that the device will be provided at the stand of LG within the CES 2020 exhibition.^[1]
