On November 17, 2022, Conformis announced the start of commercial implementation of the new Imprint knee system. An orthopedic device company has developed a custom-made implant. It will become Conformis' main proposal for knee joints.

We were pleased with the feedback from surgeons that we have already received and we are pleased to see the continued implementation of our Imprint system, which reflects our business model, "said CEO and President Marc Augusti. By introducing a new category of custom-made TKA systems, we have created a new standard of personalization at a lower cost of production and faster delivery times than traditional, fully customized products.

Imprint uses some of the features of Conformis' fully personalized iTotal implant systems, as well as aspects of traditional off-the-shelf systems. The company claims that in the development of the design, more than 85 thousand data are used based on the analysis and standardization of key variables.

To obtain a complete three-dimensional picture of the patient's unique joint in the knee joint system, computed tomography is used to obtain critical measurements. Advanced AI-based software selects the optimal implant size from the 12 available options.

The new "made-to-measure" Conformis option provides a much greater level of personalization than traditional off-the-shelf alternatives, improving fit, bone coverage and natural joint movement, said Vice President of Marketing James Paiva.

Orthopedic patients have a choice between two data-driven Conformis systems. They can choose a custom-made Imprint model or a fully personalized version of the Identity model.[1]
