2022: Device Announcement

In mid-August 2022, the Israeli company Green Kinoko announced the release of an environmentally friendly outdoor cooling system. Kinsho systems work as a return heater for outdoor cafes, cooling several tables per unit area without the use of electricity.

Standard tanks with liquid nitrogen, the temperature of which is -196 ° C, are loaded into the coolers, and when they are turned on, the liquid is slowly released. It expands rapidly, becoming a gas nearly 700 times the volume of liquid, and the coolers use the energy of this expansion with a mechanical engine to release nitrogen gas at -10 ° C.

World's first liquid nitrogen conditioner launched

Liquid nitrogen is stored in special Dewar vessels, or under pressure in special cryogenic tanks. In any other tanks, liquid nitrogen instantly evaporates, releasing a large amount of nitrogen into the air. Kinsho liquid nitrogen tanks must be replaced every 7-10 days, depending on how hot they are outside and how intensively they are operated.

This cold is enough to quickly and calmly cool several outdoor tables without causing suffocation in the institution's patients, Green Kinoko said. Liquid nitrogen is much more environmentally friendly because it does not consume electricity or blow out hot air. Nitrogen makes up about 78% of the ambient air, so it is not toxic and should be safe outdoors.

The Kinsho system has been developed since 2018 and as of August 2022, the company has manufactured 12 units for use. According to the developers, they received requests for the supply of equipment from at least 40 countries, so it was decided to force mass production of the product.[1]
