2019: Cracking of the application

At the end of April, 2019 it became known of cracking of the application of McDonald's as a result of which malefactors managed to order food for thousands of dollars.

For residents of Canada McDonald’s created mobile application of My McD's by means of which users can order food at restaurants of network in advance and receive it without queue. The order is paid by means of the bank card which data are entered in the application.

Somehow someone could get access to accounts  of My McD's and make orders, paying them with debit and credit cards which clients linked in the application. According to Business Insider, swindlers made for time a set of orders for $20. At the same time in January, 2019 began to appear the message about the wrong write-off of money in  My McD’s, and it is about the amounts from $50 to $500.

Promptly raise the number of injured clients of McDonald's. Among them there was a managing editor of the MobileSyrup edition Patrick O'Rourke from Montreal. He was robbed for $1500. The journalist could return the stolen money, having addressed to bank.

Earlier in 2019 Canadian Patty Duke told CTV News TV channel that charged $100 for lunches in McDonald’s off her account. The similar case occurred with Lauren Taylor which "ordered" French fries, Big Macs, sandwiches and other food for $500. And payment of the order was made in Quebec whereas Taylor lives in Nova Scotia which is in 800 km from Quebec.

McDonald’s  said  to the Business Insider edition that the company is sure of security of the application. At the same time in McDonald’s  could not explain how swindlers could crack it. As for compensation, the network of fast food restaurants refused to return money and  advised victims to address to  banks.[1]
