2024: Product Announcement

On February 28, 2024, Adobe announced the Project Music GenAI Control tool based on generative artificial intelligence (Genia). This is a kind of "photoshop" for editing music and creating it based on text descriptions.

The system is being developed in collaboration with the University of California and the Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science. Gautham Mysore, head of AI research in audio and video at Adobe, notes that the new tool allows any user to put their musical ideas into practice.

The process of creating a work is based on text hints. First, you need to decide on the genre by setting the direction - for example, "fun dance composition" or "sad jazz." You can then adjust various parameters such as tempo, intensity, repetitive fragments, etc. Users can change the structure of the track, as well as perform mixing. In addition, you can take the available composition and increase its duration to the desired time - for use in podcasts or other author's materials.

On the one hand, Project Music GenAI Control is a convenient and effective tool for generating original audio content and creating musical accompaniment. But, on the other hand, experts warn, the emergence of such services gives rise to certain ethical and legal problems. In particular, there are issues related to copyright compliance. Adobe announced that it is working on a special watermarking technology that will help identify works created by Project Music GenAI Control. This is expected to help in resolving possible disputes.[1]
