In the middle of March, 2020 the British startup of GiveVision provided the new points returning full-fledged sight to visually impaired people by means of technology of augmented reality (AR).

The SightPlus 2 model is less, it is easier on the weight of points of first generation and is similar to square sunglasses. According to developers, SightPlus 2 combines VR- and AR technologies to model human vision of the world with a viewing field more than 100 degrees "practically in real time".

More than 191 million people around the world suffer from loss of sight so the potential audience of wearable means for digital sight is quite big. Generally it is patients with a makulyarny degeneration, neuritis of an optic nerve and a diabetic retinopathy. During clinical trials about 70% of the patients testing SightPlus prototypes announced improvement of sight almost to normal level, and 98% of patients announced significant improvement.

SightPlus 2 uses the technologies of the display and the camera which are built in directly a spectacle frame. Meanwhile the company does not hurry to open detailed technical data of the device. It is known that the SightPlus 2 model is expected six hours of independent operation, has the weight of 110 grams and is followed by a 36-month guarantee. The startup of GiveVision notes that the model was created under control of the European Space Agency and uses the technology of processing of visual data developed for the European space satellites.

The price of SightPlus will be 2,995 pounds sterling ($3612), but it is possible to separate it into several monthly payments on 55 pounds sterling ($66). The subscription gives to the user access to support line of clients, free software updates and a long-term guarantee.[1]
