In June, 2018 Trend Micro provided service of response to cyberthreats for the companies which lack cybersecurity specialists. The product is called Managed Detection and Response (MDR).

He uses algorithms of artificial intelligence for identification of threats to IT infrastructure of the enterprises. Developers note that service does not replace with itself a team of specialists in information security in the companies, and supplements their work rather, doing it to more effective.

According to the chief global strategist of Trend Micro Steve Neville, in the market of cyber security there is not enough highly qualified personnel, and MDR helps to resist to the hacker attacks to the organizations which are not able to afford to keep big staff of cybersecurity specialists.

MDR places priorities and will approve the notifications arriving from end network devices, servers and cloud services. Thanks to it the companies can compare information on threats obtained from different sources, it is correct to define degree of criticality of threat and to provide automatic reaction. The producer pays attention to three main areas of work of the solution:

  • Use of AI for correlation of data and identification of threats with the high level of risk;
  • the automated arrangement of priorities when obtaining information on threats on end devices, servers and in network;
  • automation of responses to threats.

Trend Micro notes that using MDR, service providers of management of security (MSSP) will be able to conform better to market demands worldwide and to offer clients own services of response to threats.

Analysts of Gartner estimated global market of services of management of detection of threats and response to them at $100 million at the end of 2017. In comparison with the 2016th there was a growth by 15%.[1]
