On March 26, 2020 Bosch announced development of a rapid test which, according to in the company, allows to diagnose organism infection with Covid-19 coronavirus in 2.5 hours.

In fundamentals of the announced technology the platform of molecular diagnostics Vivalytic, medical division of Bosch lies. The Vivalytic device began to be used in hospitals, laboratories and medical institutions for identification of a number of bacterial and viral diseases, including flu and pneumonia earlier. The company speaks, the rapid test for a coronavirus will be available in Germany in April, 2020. It will also be on sale in other countries.

During different laboratory tests of SARS-CoV-2 the test from Bosch showed results with an accuracy more than 95%. Affirms that development conforms to the quality standards of WHO. The sample undertakes from a nose or the patient's throat using a tampon, then the cartridge with reagents is inserted into the Vivalytic device for the analysis.

The analyzer is developed in such a way that can carry out the analysis even medical personnel without special preparation — to ten tests a day. Thus, according to developers, assessment up to 1000 tests a day requires only 100 devices.

According to him, for development of a rapid test Bosch integrated with the Northern Irish producer of the medical equipment Randox Laboratories, the old partner in promotion of the Vivalytic platform.

As the virologist Christian Drosten told, commenting on creation of the ekpress-test a kompniya of Bosch, about 500 thousand tests for a coronavirus of new type are taken in Germany weekly.[1]
