In the Moscow gallery of Ilya Glazunov electronic copies more than 300 works are created

2019: Digitization of 300 works

On August 14, 2019 ELAR company announced end of the first stage of digitization of a collection of graphic works for the Moscow state art gallery of the national artist of the USSR Ilya Glazunov, – ELAR corporation created electronic copies more than 300 works of the artist.

Works of the national artist of the USSR Ilya Sergeyevich Glazunov are well known in Russia and beyond its limits, - the master left behind more than 5000 works. Art gallery of Ilya Glazunov – one of the leading museums of Moscow in which for August, 2019 more than 1300 picturesque and graphic works by the master donated them to Moscow are stored. ELAR corporation within the first stage of cooperation digitized more than 300 works of the artist.

It is a series of graphic works from the cycle "City" – lyrical "diary" of the artist, early drawings and also portraits, including famous people of the XX century – S.V. Mikhalkov's writers (1958) and N.P. Antsiferov (1956), M.S. Donskoy's (1958) film directors, M. Antonioni (1963) and Page F. Bondarchuk (1984), poets, musicians, Russians and foreign actors. The most numerous group of works – images of literary heroes of the Russian classics of the 19th century. First of all – the favourite writer Ilya Glazunov – F.M. Dostoyevsky. The artist illustrated all collected works of Dostoyevsky, work on a cycle of illustrations was continued not one decade, but the first images of characters of its novels "Idiot", "Demons", were created in 1956. The artist also addressed in the creativity P.I. Melnikov-Pechersky, A.I. Kuprin, N.S. Leskov, A.I. Goncharov, A.K. Tolstoy, N.A. Nekrasov and A.A. Blok and M.Yu. Lermontov's works.

For August, 2019 Glazunov is an artist who exceeded modest tasks book illustrations, having created independent, bright, emotionally rich images of literary heroes. It is possible to call a graphic cycle of Ilya Glazunov top in the history of the Russian and Soviet realistic illustration which by right entered a treasury of the domestic fine arts, comments Polina Aleksandrovna Shabanova, the chief keeper of Gallery of Ilya Glazunov

Scanning was made on contactless complexes of high-quality scanning of ELAR Pauerskan which ensured safety of objects of art at digitization and high quality of images.

The received electronic copies allowed to improve accounting of museum objects and to create electronic archive of a museum meeting. We are also going to use copies in scientific and publishing of Gallery, speaks Polina Aleksandrovna Shabanova
