As reported, the system demonstrated compliance with all requirements for the quality of video communication and compatibility with the existing VKS infrastructure of the department, and also successfully passed the verification of standard and individual scenarios of the Government of the Murmansk Region. The project was implemented from August 2021 to May 2023. Further CIT plans include an expanded deployment of the system until 2026.

In 2021, the customer had the need to update outdated solutions of foreign vendors in the field of video conferencing. Import substitution policy and risks associated with foreign service models have become key factors for finding a Russian-made VKS system.

Governments of the Murmansk region

At the stage of selecting the manufacturer of CIT of the Murmansk region, he put forward a number of requirements that the updated system must meet. The main requirements are the compliance of the solution with various use cases, including workshops, as well as events that take place in several stages, with open broadcasting to the Internet and subsequent transition to closed mode, as well as compatibility with existing equipment and servers, both within the organization and with external counterparties. In addition, the department needed a simple and easy-to-use system, which is not inferior in the quality of picture and sound transmission to foreign solutions. Based on these requirements, the Open Vision system integrator proposed the Russian video conferencing solution Vinteo.

The key possibility of Vinteo development is maximum, more than 95% of cases, compatibility with hardware terminals and MCUs of other well-known manufacturers of VKS solutions on the market. This allows you to seamlessly implement Vinteo into the existing infrastructure of departments as a domestic core of the video communication system, on the basis of which in the future you can scale video communication networks for any tasks and scenarios, as well as work freely with external subscribers from other organizations using different VKS platforms. Prior to the complete implementation of the system into the customer's infrastructure, testing was performed to test the solution.

We have provided a test program and methodology based on customer needs. Usually, during testing, external servers are offered "in the cloud" to get acquainted with the functionality, but in this case the solution was deployed on the server power of the CIT and tested in the internal closed digital circuit.

After the deployment of the test bench and the belief in the stability of the system, the customer began to check external counterparties. After the tests, the customer was convinced that the compatibility level was quite high, and this is one of the main requirements for video conferencing.

= told Victoria Bykova, Head of the Department of Support of the GOBU "Center for Information Technologies of the Murmansk Region"|It was important for us to determine how the Vinteo system corresponds to the use scenarios that occur in the organization. We often have questions related to the connection of subscribers from other structures for interdepartmental interaction. This part of the test system is successful passed, but we formulated additional requirements for the product to optimize it. These requirements were discussed with the developers and subsequently implemented.}}

After a month of testing, the customer decided to fully implement the Vinteo video conferencing system.

We had no specific requirements for information security. " The system has standard functionality, and for additional protection, the project provided firewall and allocation of an isolated subnet for the server. To improve security, we requested the implementation of event transmission to the SIEM system.

As a result, the migration to the domestic Vinteo solution was successfully completed. Based on the results of the pilot operation of the decision, the customer decided to scale the system and increase the number of licenses. Feedback on the real work of the solution was quickly transmitted to Vinteo and helped make the product better. CIT also planned to deploy the system in an expanded version until 2026.
