2020: Acquisition of the Elar scanner

In historical and cultural memorial estate "Kolomna Kremlin" the scanner of ELARSKAN A2 which will allow not only to create electronic copies of exhibits is delivered, but also to save from damages the most valuable and ancient of them.

Acquisition of the ELAR scanner will allow to digitize in the delicate mode objects of different meetings, - both documentary, and subject, - note in the museum.

Selecting the scanner, special attention we paid to the lighting system allowing to ensure safety of objects in the course of scanning and also the sizes of a book cradle for convenient placement of non-standard exhibits, - Ekaterina Sergeyevna Antipova, the chief keeper of museum objects says. – We scan old originals, many of which are historical and especially important documents of 17-18 centuries. Any influence of harmful radiation is capable to reduce life of these funds by more than 20 years. Elarskan has the LED system of illumination which does not make ultra-violet and infrared impact and does digitization absolutely safe. Now if necessary we can make even several copies of one document, without being afraid for its safety.

Thanks to a V-shaped book cradle with adjustment of slope angle, deepening for a back and a possibility of disclosure by 90, 120 and 180 degrees we had an opportunity to scan valuable originals up to 15 cm thick without risk of their damage, - Ekaterina Sergeyevna Antipova tells.

The museum specifies that electronic images of collections are necessary for unloading in the State directory of Museum fund of the Russian Federation and also for providing to researchers, creation of publications, virtual exhibitions.
