In the middle of September, 2019 the Turkish football club "Galatasaray" announced start of own cryptocurrency. This project is implemented based on the Chiliz blockchain platform in partnership with the Socios company developing the platform for interaction of fans and teams.

According to the statement of Socios, tokens of Ethereum and mobile application on the basis of a blockchain with the system of encouragement of football fans for active work are created. Tokens will allow fans to vote in polls delegated by club and to take part in adoption of other important solutions. It is expected that such questions as a design of an official merchendayz, holding game actions within club and presence of fans at stadium and also sponsor's campaigns and updating of content on social networks will be brought up for vote.

The value of voices will be defined by quantity of the cryptocurrency belonging to the fan. The more the fan interacts with the soccer team, the he can earn more cryptocurrency remunerations, competing for unique gifts and the exclusive rights within club. The company of a pilot project also promises that in the future the most active admirers will be able to get access to exclusive games and goods.

The cryptocurrency will extend via the website Socios.com from the first quarter 2020.

The board member of Galatasaray club Dorukhan Acar commented on succession of events by such words: New partnership opens for us the world of new opportunities in respect of interaction with fans and also should become the next milestone on the way to digital transformation.

The company reports that other known football clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, West Ham United, AS Roma and Atlético de Madrid also can join the Socios platform.[1]
