In January, 2019 the Novo BI company and producer of grain products of easy preparation Resource (Uvelka trademark) summed up the intermediate results of creation of the center of decision support using the Qlik Sense platform and the system of forecasting of sales and collaborative planning of factors of Novo Forecast Enterprise.

About the Customer

Uvelka – one of the largest domestic companies in the market. This brand is widely known in the territory of the Russian Federation and still in 25 countries of the world. In Russia it can be found more than in 96 thousand outlets – super and hypermarkets of federal and regional retail and also in normal shops of a format "at the house".

More than 25 years the company releases the grain products of easy preparation for every day providing a good and healthy nutrition for all family.

The enterprise consists of industrial complex on:

  • to the system of unpacked storage of grain,
  • to processing of grain in grain,
  • to production of flakes from grain,
  • to mixing and dosing of ingredients,
  • to packing of products.

Uvelka releases grain products of easy preparation

The company conducts construction of a large production and logistic complex. Investment volume is 3.4 billion rubles. The management of the enterprise underlines that the project is directed to expansion of the operating production. It is planned that after construction of the new plant the share of Uvelka in the Russian market of grain, flakes and porridges will grow to 20%, and a third of products will be exported, including, to China.

Prerequisites of the Project

The strategy on market growth advancing accepted at the end of 2016 demanded existence of modern tools of the analysis of a position of the company in the market.

It was necessary for creation of the reasonable purposes before marketing and department of sales. Also there was a question of demand forecasting system implementation for decrease in operating costs, optimization of production and growth of customer satisfaction, - the deputy CEO for development of Uvelk Sergey Kirpichenko notes.

Project Progress

For project implementation the Novo BI company was selected. It is a supplier of the finished analytical solutions on the Qlik platform and at the same time the system manufacturer of forecasting of Novo Forecast Enterprise.

Cooperation with the company began in the middle of 2017. Less than in a year a number of projects was implemented:

  • Analysis of primary and secondary sales
  • The analysis of sales in networks
  • Analysis trade actions
  • Share analysis for end buyers in networks
  • The analysis of sales in networks and the actions and competitors
  • Assessment of potential of development of sales
  • Problem definition automation to sales representatives on the basis of assessment of potential of sales
  • Nielsen data analysis automation - the analysis retail audit

These projects allowed us to make most quickly the decisions connected with promotion of products of the company, - Sergey Kirpichenko emphasized. - But one understanding "what happened and why" insufficiently for sustainable development of the company. We understood that the tool allowing to show surely what to us to expect in the future is necessary. Like that, according to us the system of forecasting of sales is. We were going to use results of the forecast practically in all departments – production, logistics, sales, marketing.

In 2018 implementation of Novo Forecast Enterprise began. Already initial stage of operation showed that forecast accuracy increased more than twice. Use of factors allowed to increase in addition accuracy on a number of positions to 92 – 98%.

The following task – involvement in daily work with the system of employees of all interested departments. It is expected that in 2019 Novo Forecast Enterprise will become the center of planning for all main activities of the company.

The linking of Novo Forecast Enterprise with analytics on Qlik Sense became in Uvelka the base for creation of the center of decision support. Now we begin one more pool of the projects aimed at monitoring and management of a situation in the company, - Alexey Baturin, the chief executive of Novo BI notes.

The selected solution

Novo Forecast Enterprise is the system of forecasting of sales and management of the factors influencing the forecast.

The software product is intended for accomplishment of a full stroke of process of forecasting and the analysis of results:

  • Data preparation for the forecast;
  • Choice of model and forecast calculation;
  • Adjustment of the forecast factors;
  • Accuracy assessment

Through Novo Forecast Enterprise of the company can solve the main objectives of forecasting:

  • Planning process coordination
  • Management of criteria of forecasting
  • Calculation of the detailed mathematical sales forecast
  • Adjustment of the forecast factors and operational restrictions
  • Analysis of results of the forecast and determination of actions for increase in forecast accuracy
