2013. New version

Developer company announced on May 21, 2013 release of Zserver 6.0.1 with support Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and the ReFS file system.

In the new version support of ReFS (Resilient File System) — the new file system which appeared in Microsoft Windows Server 2012 is implemented. Unlike NTFS, in ReFS there were opportunities connected with fault tolerance of a system. In particular, the functions aimed at providing integrity of files at unexpected power off at the output of the hard drive are added out of operation both on hardware, and at the programming layer. One more innovation of ReFS is the mechanism of data storage which essence of work consists in copying of the changed document revisions that allows to minimize risks of loss of files.

"Some large companies already began to pass gradually to new server operating system, despite its novelty and existence of the informal rule of "the first service pack" therefore within this year we will add support of Windows Server 2012 to our main products — Roman Vasilyev, the technical director of Zecurion noted. — Except perspective ReFS, in the new version we also built in support of Storage Spaces technology, allowing to create "program RAIDs" which are now used even more often, first of all thanks to an opportunity to integrate storages of different volumes and types that is not present in hardware implementation of RAID".

2001

Zecurion Zserver is issued since 2001 and is one of flagship products of the company. It is intended for reliable confidential data protection which are stored and processed on corporate servers and register in reserve carriers. Zecurion Zserver performs enciphering of information placed on hard drives, on disk arrays and in SAN storages by method of transparent enciphering. For data encryption in a product algorithms of RC5, AES and XTS-AES with long a key up to 512 bits are used.

The Zserver system is means of protecting of the confidential information stored and processed on corporate servers, the cryptography technique of data on a disk. Zserver works by the principle of "transparent" enciphering of sections of hard drives. A system automatically, online, performs enciphering of information at disk writing and decrypts when reading from it. It provides data storage on a disk in encrypted form and impossibility of their use without encryption key even at withdrawal of the server or carrier. The Zserver system provides enciphering of files and folders on a disk and also all service information — file allocation tables, etc.

Thus, the Zserver system not only protects confidential data, but also suppresses the fact of their existence from strangers. Information on the protected disks is stored in encrypted form and becomes available, only when the network administrator will confer to the user appropriate authority. Access rights to the protected disks are established by means of the operating system. Enciphering of files and folders on a disk is performed by software driver.

Data encryption keys on a disk are entered when loading the server from the smart card protected by the PIN code. Without knowing the PIN code, it is impossible to use a smart card. Three attempts of the wrong input of the PIN code will block the card. The smart card is necessary only at connection of the protected carriers, and in the course of work it is not required. At reset of the server without smart card, the protected disks will not be available.

The Zserver system gives an opportunity of remote input of encryption keys and administration of a system from any workstation of a local network, or via the Internet.

The Zserver systems which work running the following operating systems are developed:

  • Windows 2000/XP/2003/2008 (32-and 64-bit);
  • Linux with a core 2.6.x.
