QlikView in transport and logistic company Gelaksi

Digia RUS, the Russian representative office of Digia, the international system integrator and software developer, announced project completion on Business Intelligence system implementation on the basis of QlikView in the GELAKSI transport and logistic company.

GELAKSI company renders a full range of transport logistics services across Russia, the CIS countries and the whole world, including transportation of goods, consolidation in warehouses in transit of combined loads, customs services, the foreign economic activity optimizing the cost of transportation and customs value.

During the work GELAKSI company saved up large volumes of the data stored in the different systems including Excel table. Because of it data were insufficiently well structured and hardly gave in to the analysis, without allowing the management to make the weighed decisions both in the field of strategic planning, and in operating activities of the company.

The company management made the decision on business analysis system implementation. Having compared several BI systems presented at the market, GELAKSI company stopped the choice on the product QlikView. As the supplier the Digia RUS company was selected.

All process of implementation of QlikView occupied only 9 working days. Business challenges were during this time approved, the analysis of the available data is carried out, problems with the existing data are revealed and fixed, forms of required reports are developed and final demonstration of a system is carried out.

In a project deliverable the analytical reporting under core activities of the logisticheky company, including indicators of cost value, revenue and marginality of rail, automobile, air and multimodal transportation, customs services, warehouse logistics and additional services was created. The management had an opportunity to analyze results of a company performance and to plan further activity using the simple and evident dashbord showing the state of affairs, problem areas and the most perspective directions. Results of data processing can be provided both in a simple graphic type, and using tables and charts of any extent of detailing.

The company had all these opportunities less than in two weeks which passed from initiation of the project before its successful protection. Within development of the project GELAKSI company plans expansion of field of use QlikView, applying a system to the operational plan-fact analysis of sales, the reporting and control of accomplishment of budgets.
