TopLog WMS 2

As the largest operator of commercial logistics (3PL) of "GEM" provides a full range of the corresponding services. The company performs transportations and freight forwarding in the territory of EU countries, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Russia and the CIS. Locating modern warehouse terminals in the Moscow region and St. Petersburg and also the park more than 1000 cars.

The first object for start "an ACS DRIED Golitsyno" the class A warehouse "Golitsyno 1" with a total area of 15000 sq.m, ceilings of 12 m high was selected. At present in a warehouse 3PL-services are provided to the largest global car maker. The main type of the nomenclature — automobile spare parts.

Problems of implementation

Within the project specialists of TopLog company implemented all requirements to the WMS solution designated by GEMA Group:

• creation of a common information space for the round-the-clock control of the warehouse terminal;
• support of the existing warehouse transactions (acceptance, placement, selection, packaging, shipment, inventory, quality control, blocking, movement, procedural feed, consolidation, control of classes of turnover);
• increase in efficiency of a warehouse due to use of end-to-end transactions (cross docking, the consolidated selection) and side-by-side execution of the connected transactions (acceptance placement, selection-packaging-shipment);
• minimization of time expenditure on manual transactions, support of radio data collection terminals (shipping documentation) and a possibility of accomplishment of intra warehouse transactions without participation of operators;
• simultaneous support of several owners of goods in one warehouse and data exchange with their corporate systems.

Results

The project is complete on January 20, 2007, aggregate term of start of the WMS solution made 2 months. From TopLog WMS operating conditions in the warehouse "Golitsyno 1" it is possible to note:

• more than 100,000 cells of rack and mezzanine storage;
• more than 50,000 names of the nomenclature;
• accomplishment of 5,000 order lines for change;
• up to 4,000 warehouse transactions per hour;
• up to 70 at the same time working users (1 — the operator of a warehouse, 50 — radio data collection terminals, 3 — execution of accompanying documents, to 15 — obtaining analytical information).
