Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 - the platform of IT infrastructure in "Walk about"

The IT company completed in Group "Walk about" the project on creation of IT infrastructure on the basis of technologies of Microsoft. A common information space for effective interaction of all enterprises of agroholding is organized. Increase in controllability and security of IT infrastructure of agroholding and also decrease in total cost of ownership it became a project deliverable.

The choice of a software platform was predetermined as the existing infrastructure of the corporate center of Group "Walk about" already was based on technologies of Microsoft. For the choice of the contractor the agroholding held a competition, part in which was taken by several large Microsoft partners. On set of the estimated parameters project implementation Group "Walk about" entrusted IT.

Engineers of IT together with IT specialists of Group "Walk about" created a core of uniform IT infrastructure on the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 platform. The uniform directory service is constructed by the hierarchical principle and provides centralized operation with infrastructure of the distributed enterprises of Group "Walk about". System implementation of e-mail Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 became the second stage of the project. It provided the staff of agroholding with reliable service for message exchange and joint work, including problem definition, purpose of meetings, use of calendars and the uniform address list. At creation of IT infrastructure the possibility of its modification at changes in business of agroholding was provided: "Walk about" will be able to change the structure of structural divisions and to add new services, in particular to develop possibilities of joint work of employees. Today Group "Walk about" is the largest agroholding of Russia which managed to create at itself modern infrastructure for the implemented ERP system.

According to the results of the project Krasnov Alexander, the deputy CEO for information technologies of Group "Walk about"  noted: "The created infrastructure became the base for the implemented ERP system and other modern IT solutions. A common information space considerably will simplify communications between employees, the implemented management system for the rights to data access (AD RMS) will provide safe exchange of confidential information by e-mail, its storage on network drives, without being afraid of unauthorized access, and unification of jobs optimizes work of IT management of Group for 20 percent. All this will allow to achieve increase in controllability, security and fault tolerance of IT infrastructure in general".
