The Quest Software company released release of the version of LiteSpeed for SQL Server which allows database managers to manage backup copies of a set of copies of a DB in May, 2011. Thus, DBA can apply without effort the suitable strategy of recovery for all SQL environment of the server. The new release also includes Adaptive Comparison – function which automatically, in real time performs correction of compression of backup copies according to changes of loading of the server.

The new feature from LiteSpeed Backup Templates gives the chance to database managers to model and when it is required, to change backup strategy of SQL and with ease to apply it to the existing SQL environment of the organization.

Now LiteSpeed contains function of adaptive compression (Adaptive Compression) which automatically, in real time performs correction of compression of backup copies according to changes of loading of the server. The user can automatically use available resources of the server for backup process optimization, and all this without impact on the started processes or transactions of the SQL server.

Adaptive compression is performed with assistance of the patented Fast Compression technology which allows to reduce the volume and time of creation of the backup copy for 85% in comparison with competitive solutions by intellectual copying only of last modifications in the database.

Using new templates of backup from LiteSpeed, users can manage quickly backup of all existing infrastructure directly from LiteSpeed for reduction of administrative expenses and for fast adaptation to new requirements of business. The Fast Compression function together with a new feature of Adaptive Compression raises a level for backup and recovery of the SQL server, providing to the database manager faster backup with the smallest of the size of the purpose of preserving of disk space.
