Megafon completed migration from 1C on SAP HCM

In September, 2012 the MegaFon mobile operator announced implementation of the successful project on expansion of opportunities of a corporate SAP personnel management system. MOLGA Consulting acted as integrator of the project.

Within a final stage of implementation the functionality of the personnel management system of MegaFon operating on a software platform of SAP ERP of HCM (Human Capital Management) was significantly expanded due to automation of settlement process of the salary and also creation based on the SAP product Travel Management of single corporate solution for management of business trips.

Earlier payroll for more than 20,000 employees of the company was made by means of an unconsolidated application package of 1C.

In addition to implementation of settlement processes of the salary and management of business trips, specialists of MOLGA Consulting made upgrade of the personnel management system operating in MegaFon based on HCM SAP ERP to EHP4 service pack.

As the director of personnel management MegaFon Irina Likhova told, the project on implementation of salary was a part of the program for unification of business processes in the field of personnel management of the company and further strengthening of positions of SAP HR as common information space. Now systems capabilities allowed to reach the level of cross-functional interaction that substantially promotes increase in business performance, she noted.

At the first stage of the project the working groups as a part of project participants from MegaFon and consultants of MOLGA Consulting made unification and completion of business processes regarding modification of payroll, a time recording and also reporting methodology.

As the chief accountant of MegaFon said to Lyubov Strelkina: "For us in the project was important to create the uniform, unified system. SAP implementation of Payroll allowed to organize accounting process so that it completely satisfied to business needs. The flexibility and broad functionality of a system allow to react timely to changes of the internal and external environment, saving at the same time quality of the provided financial information to all interested users. Reduction of process of routine operations on data collection and payroll turns complex, laborious work of the accountant into creative analytical activity".

Along with implementation of the module SAP Travel the speed and service quality of employees, transparency and simplicity of control of events of business trips significantly improved that is one of important aspects in implementation of strategic plans of the company, - she added.

Further there took place successful pilot implementation of the updated HR system in head office and capital branch "MegaFon" according to the results of which specialists of MOLGA Consulting implemented its replication (distribution) on all branches of mobile operator across all Russia. Start of the pilot solution for head office and capital branch took place in two months from the moment of the beginning of works that is rather extraordinary, considering volumes of business of MegaFon.

According to the Chief information officer of MegaFon Konstantin Yunov, strategic direction of information technology development of the company is the rate on a monovendornost. SAP is selected from quality of the platform for creation of a single all-corporate system of enterprise management. The operator uses ERP SAP Business Suite.
