According to data of two independent researches, in the private sector expenses on IT, in comparison with last year, low, and growth rates of technology expenses in public sector decrease.

IDC this week reported that in 2011 it expects increase in expenses in private and state sectors of the USA for 5.6%, after 5.5% of growth last year. But growth rates of IT expenses in public sector decline. Last year the public expenditures increased 5.46%, and in it growth is predicted only for 3.8%, Ted Dangson, the analyst of IDC told.

Microsoft provided Office 365 as economic option while IT managers in public sector, in particular, express readiness to get over in "cloud".

Google used interest of the state in cloud computing. Recently the company won the delivery contract G Suite (before Google Apps) for the government of the State of Wyoming. Officials of the state said that they expect to save in a year more than $1 million by providing G Suite (before Google Apps) for 10000 users.

Microsoft told that it expects from Office 365 companies implementers of cost reduction from 50% to 200%, depending on a number of factors – including operating expenses of a data processing center or "cloud" of vendor. But the limited budget can complicate this transition.

According to Susie Adams (Susie Adams), the technical director of Microsoft business division which is engaged in sales to the U.S. Government, the problem is that transition to "cloud" requires some preliminary costs. "You migrate from the existing systems in "cloud" to receive this economy", - she told.

Public sector represents a considerable share of the total costs of IT. In 2010 about $391 billion expenses on IT, and in public sector - about $91 billion were the share of the private sector.

Computer Economics in the annual research of the personnel and expenses in IT reported that it expects in a public sector of decrease in account transactions on IT which capital costs do not enter, this year for 3%, i.e. it will be the only sector where these costs were reduced. IT expenses in the insurance industry, as expected, will grow by 5%.
