On January 28, 2019 the Konica Minolta Business Solutions Russia company reported that Konica Minolta carried out upgrade of infrastructure of printing of BMW Group in 44 countries of the Pacific Rim, Europe and North America. At the expense of the complex project the efficiency of document flow and printing grew, at the same time it was succeeded to reduce energy consumption by 28% for the processes connected with printing and to reduce a paper consumption approximately by 5 million sheets A4 of a format or nearly 25,000 kg a month. Emissions of a carbon dioxide gas were reduced by 24.84 tons a month. Besides, Konica Minolta provided services using the international support service (Global Customer Service) that guarantees flexibility and speed of problem solving on printing infrastructure around the world.

According to the company, especially for BMW Group Konica Minolta developed the concept and proposed a set of the solutions including program and the hardware, in particular, desktop printers and the MFP.

All park of the printing devices BMW Group within the project is united in a global network with the centralized monitoring and management that allowed to ensure smooth operation of the equipment – at the expense of timely service notifications and also to undertake preventive measures before incidents. Also the solution for safe printing was set and the functionality of follow-me which allows to send the document to printing is configured and to take away it in any of offices of the company that strongly simplifies work of personnel of the customer. This infrastructure assumes ample opportunities for users of mobile devices: the staff of BMW Group can print the document from the mobile device or load on it the scanned files.

Besides, special round-the-clock technical support of users using Global Customer Service (GCS) which works based on 3 regional representative offices – in Europe, Asia and America operating according to the uniform standard for transnational clients around the world was provided. Such approach allows to save time and resources of customers.

2017

The HP company extends the validity of the global contract with BMW Group for five years.

Task

BMW Group is necessary the fault-free and protected, based on open standards network infrastructure capable to provide a stable investment payback. Having estimated performance and cost efficiency of HP solutions of Networking, BMW Group prolonged the agreement with HP on deliveries of switches of HP and technical support services.

Solution

Within the contract the division of HP of Technology Services will provide a range of services of technical support of HP services on the basis of which the most part of network infrastructure of BMW Group is constructed.


The network infrastructure of BMW Group created based on the intelligent HP E5400 switches, E3500 and E6200 is on a centralized basis controlled using HP Networking Manager Plus based on the Microsoft Windows platform for design of topology and configuring of network. According to conditions of the prolonged contract, HP Technology Services will add to already provided services services for operational replacement, "until the end of the next working day", the hardware in case of failure. Thanks to it the requirements of the agreement, obligatory to execution, on BMW Group service level will be fulfilled, and it will become simpler to company to use services of HP.
