Adobe refused the EDS technology for benefit of EchoSign

Adobe Systems purchased EchoSign: it will allow to expand possibilities of a cloud service of the vendor known as eSignatures, at the same time completing its existence as brand. Possibly, its further development will happen under the name Adobe EchoSign.

Adobe Systems purchased EchoSign company - Internet service provider of electronic digital signatures and the automated mechanism of signing of documents. Transaction amount is not disclosed.

Adobe is going to add electronic technologies of signing EchoSign to the platform of services of electronic document management for the reduction of time, cost and difficulties connected with the circulation of signed documents, says the company.

With respect thereto acquisition the company is going to stop own cloud service of the electronic signature called by eSignatures or eSign which was started in May of last year. Now service in a beta status, the termination of its work is planned, the press secretary of the company on Monday said. With EchoSign acquisition, users of Adobe eSign will get access to "much more complete and rich product providing their needs in electronic signatures", she added.

The EchoSign technology which is used now by more than 3 million users around the world will be integrated with other services of document flow, including SendNow service - for the managed file transfer, FormsCentral - for creation of forms and CreatePDF - for online creation of files of the PDF format.

Founders of EchoSign and all salaried employees will enter into staff of Adobe. "Our joint purpose – to make electronic signing of documents and automation of preparation of agreements a standard method", - Jason Lemkin, the CEO of EchoSign said in the blog on the website of the company.

This transaction - a favorable opportunity for Adobe as now hundreds of thousands of mailings are transferred to the signature every day, the press secretary of the company told. For example, daily revenues of FedEx from these transactions in 2010 were $1640 million EchoSign provides service of the electronic signature for individuals, small and medium business, corporate clients, promoting process of signing, automatic storage and management of all signed documents.

It is reported that the EchoSign service includes the API set (application programming interfaces) for integration into specific solutions of the companies for improvement of process of sending, tracking and signing of electronic documents. The technology is already integrated with services of such suppliers as Salesforce.com and NetSuite.
